  • Vermonters keep cool in the summer by visiting some of the ice-cold swimming holes scattered along the state's rivers and creeks. Two weekends ago, Eva took a GoPro, her sister Margot and drone photographer James Buck on an adventure to three popular swimming spots in Lamoille County. They enjoyed refreshing dips at Jeff Falls (aka Irish Springs) and Brewster River Park in Jeffersonville and then stopped for a creemee at the Cupboard Delicatessen & Bakery. Alas, they were out of maple, but the trio persevered and headed on to the Journey's End in Johnson to meet up with their friend Kyle Nuse and her family. After following Kyle on a 10-minute walk through the woods, they discovered a triple waterfall and a pool deep enough to jump into. The team cooled down in Foote Brook and then headed up the road to the Fledermaus Teahouse to warm up with hot tea and Austrian treats.

Ava thank you for not outing all the great swimming spots of Lamoille county, I feel like you stuck to the pretty well known ones. Even though I have not lived up there in almost 30 years, I feel like some of the really great spots should remain a "secret". They are better that way.

in Addison County, the swimming holes are too crowded on the weekends.... :( cars from out of state line the road in Bristol to dip in the New Haven River. Not fun for us locals. Thanks for sharing those places with us....hopefully, i can check them out too. :)
