Black metal bands to listen to Thy Light, Leviathan, Forest of Jinn, Vimur, Grave Pilgrim, Craft, Keys To The astral gates and mystic doors, Trijumf, Night Spell. Just a few to check out I could go on lol
okay, as a skacore fanatic, you are talking about 3 kind of ska genre at the same time (ska-core, crack rock steady and lets pretend ska metal is a thing). It is a confusing scene, so it is normal.
Ska metal is not a real genre. When a song mixes elements of metal or hardcore punk with ska it is classified as skacore. Crack Rock Steady was a genre created by the band Choking Victims, which is a ska with strange vocals, without wind instruments and with guitars with a heavy overdrive. Ska Punk is the combination of punk and ska.@@VIIZZZYY
17:35 as someone who was big into the Nintendocore scene in the early to mid 2010s, this is super accurate. There were a lot of friendships and crossovers between the two, and we all frequented a lot of the same groups, it was basically one big community. Cory from ZOMBIESHARK!, actually did the cover art for a lot of the Nintendocore Lives compilation albums (if not all of them) I fell out of the scene myself a few years ago unfortunately, I just got too busy with my more serious bands, but I've been wanting to get back into the scene, as I know there's still a bunch of dudes doing some great stuff. I know about yearly the community tries to put together at least one compilation album with a lot of the active NxC artists, the last one to come out was this last summer, Co-Op Time on the NCORE Collective bandcamp page, with the last one I was a part of being NCORE Goes: Anime
It’s funny how HORSE the band coined the term, but then afterwards realized they didn’t wanna actually use that to define them. I’d say another big Nintendocore artist was iamerror. I remember bumping “Trout Yogurt” back in middle school. Also his album “Grand Battle” was the magnum opus of the time.
The Clash was the first band to blend ska, reggae, and punk not op ivy, no doubt, or sublime. Ska kicked ass before the clash got ahold of it... the clash just made it so white kids could listen to it and feel ok about it. Just listen to it, if it's good, it'll remain good and become classic, regardless of how much you try to pigeon hole it.
I'm not into straight up Black Metal but the subgenres are dope. DSBM, Blackgaze, Blackened Death Metal and Deathcore. Harakiri For The Sky is a great Blackgaze band. Nocturnal Depression for DSBM.
@@Kenshiro_Miyazawa03 then, you werent joking...? Not upset, dont care about your thoughts about the band, just genuinely confused by "this is my opinion. Nah im kidding. But i mean it though."
@@thief594 Nah I still am, you can go listen to Wolves even though I do think they’re boring. At least Wolves is better than Deafheaven, Panopticon, and Liturgy. If I’m being honest I have never met anyone, not a single soul who enjoys Liturgy.
10:51 Enslaved is easy to get into and has high production and cleans, Blackbraid is pretty easy to listen to, and ungfell is very melodic compared to most black metal. I would just recommend the sub-genre of blackgaze and post-black metal, a couple bands include Ghost Bath, and Suicide Forrest. If you want to listen to the more traditional black metal Ensomhet is a great underground French one man project lead by a fifteen year old.
This all feels so convoluted and pretentious in an effort for people to try to feel more exclusive, and to force other people into unwanted conversations about the other person's favorite bands and to strong arm them into asking questions like.. " indie post punk neo alternative nu metal ska wave math prog rock..?!? What's that?!?" Meanwhile you stand there while other person explains for 5 minutes that it's just 311.
If you want to check out ska metal, a band called NINJASPY do a fantastic job in my eyes! Upbeat strumming, catchy vocals, growling, breakdowns… it’s all there!
"ska-metal" is still sort of a thing, but it's not really metal. most of the bands coming up in in the scene are taking ska and fusing it with grindcore and powerviolence (we call it anti-ska or grindska or just crack rock steady bc it's kind of an offshoot of the og crs). biggest pusher of the scene is no time records here in socal. corrupt vision is probably the best band doing it right now but you gotta check out bad fix, lo-cash ninjas, sibannic, audio poison, escape from the zoo, and crk666
My fav black metal bands: Emperor, Mayhem, Burzum, Bathory, Këkht Aräkh (solo band project from Ukraine, it has more melancholic and melodic vibes), Drudkh (from Ukraine again and it’s atmospheric BM), Windir - mix of symphonic, epic and folk black metal, Xasthur (DSBM), Spectral Wound (melodic BM from Canada) and greek melodic/gothic metal band Rotring Christ, blackgaze (mix of shoegaze and BM) - Møl
We called it Skacore and it was the sickest era. in the mid 2000's there was a huge skacore scene. check out The Flaming Tsunamis. Heavy as fuck, with horns.
Love Sky Eats Airplane! The number one band that I wish would get back together. A really good underrated/underground artist that's in the vein of Nintendocore is Strawberry Hospital, I'm not sure if they're classified as Nintendocore but I highly recommend their work.
That’s an interesting Portuguese flag back there, interesting that the CoA is in the middle. Is that flag a just a variant of the national flag or is it for some other use, can someone let me know I tried looking into it and can’t find anything even when I google image search which usually works. Also great video
Ska Metal isn’t a thing. It’s not real. Leftöver Crack kinda tried to mix in Black Metal with their bubblegum crust punk and Ska, but they were SkaPunk. It isn’t true enough to call that Ska Metal. The closest you could get with THAT is SkaCore.
You played songs from the last death album they started playing progear stuff by than bearly death metal, you need to play, scream bloody gore, the first death metal album
Some recommendations for anyone would be the bands he mentioned , iamerror, monomate(iamerror side project) , blind equation ,dinotrax, putyournamehere, dungeon elite :D

WHAT ska is such a beast of a genre hahaha, ive seen "ska-core" around, whats the difference from ska-core/ska-metal/ska-punk?
@@VIIZZZYY ska-punk fuses ska with (mainly) the 90's epitaph/fat wreck skate punk/pop punk stuff, ska-core fuses it with hardcore

Leftover Crack has elements of ska and black metal also.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones first phase begs to differ. They were sort of a Ska Metal band and they were brilliant

i did a video on DSBM and while researching the genre, it made me never wanna touch it again hahaha very spooky stuff
Another decent Black Metal band is Liturgy, along with Deafhaven.
My dad was in a Progressive folk post hardcore band 😭🙏
Black metal band recommendation: Wolves in the Throne Room
More like Wolves in the Bore Room lmao. Nah I’m just joking, even though I do think they are boring

Loved the video! For epic black metal, the most popular band I know as of now is 1914, with about 30k monthly listeners rn.
ill be sure to give em a listen!
First real metal record was "In Rock" album from Deep Purple.
I’ve always called Alestorm ska metal since 07 😂

Interesting that Ska is the only genre where its punk fusion is more popular than the metal fusion :D
its definitely more digestible for the average listener so i understand, i just wish ska metal got a little bit more love
Your description of Epic Black Metal reminds me of Cradle Of Filth
A dungeon syntg video would be dope Vizzy it's a rabbit hole
there was a band called Folly, amazing ska tinged metalcore... they were F*ing amazing.
ill check em out! thanks for watching man

A Billion Ernies (Snapdragon Records) were Ska/Metalcore 🤷🏾♂️
All the weird combinations I think have been sadly taken. 😥
