- Our sweet cat Blitzen passed away last night peacefully. All the kids were able to say goodbye, tears were shed and we sat around him and told stories from the last 14 years he has been a part of our family. He has been a part of this family since before Turin was born. He will be missed! This has been harder than we expected...

“My dear human,
I see that you are crying, for it was my time to leave. Don't cry, please. I need to explain some things to you. You're sad because I left, but I'm so glad I met you. How many cats like me die daily without meeting someone special like you?
I know my departure saddens you, but I had to go when I did. I want to tell you not to blame yourself for anything. Without you I would have known nothing of the love and beauty I carry with me today.
You must know that we animals live intensely in the present and we are very wise; we enjoy every little thing every day, and forget the bad in our past quickly. Our lives really begin when we know love, that same love that you, my angel without wings, gave me.
Know that if you find an animal that is seriously injured, and that it only has a little bit of time in this world, you provide a huge service by accompanying it in its final transition. None of us likes to be alone, even when we realize it's time to leave. Maybe for you it's not so important that one of you is next to us caressing us and holding our paw, helping us to go in peace; but it is for us.
No more crying, please. I'll be happy. I have the name you gave me, the warmth of your house that, in our time together, became mine. I take the sound of your voice talking to me, even though I didn't always understand what you were saying to me. I carry in my heart every caress you ever gave me.
Everything you did was very valuable to me and I thank you endlessly. I don't know how to tell you, because I don't speak your language, but hopefully you saw the gratitude in my eyes.
I'm going to ask for some favors from you.
Wash your face and start smiling.
Remember how well we lived together in our time together, and the antics I made to cheer you up.
Relive all the good we shared in our time together.
And do not say you will not adopt another because you have suffered a lot from my departure.
Please don't do this!
There are many like me waiting for someone like you.
Give them what you gave me, they need it just like I needed your gifts of love and caring.
Don't keep the love you have to give, for fear of suffering; share it with those who have never known real love.
Follow my advice; cherish the good with each of us, recognizing that you are an angel to us animals, and that without people like you, our lives would be so much harder than they sometimes are.
Follow your noble task, as now it's up to me to be your angel. I will accompany you in your path and help you help others like me.
I will talk to the other animals that are here with me, I will tell them everything you have done for me, and I will point and say proudly; "That's my family".
Tonight, when you look at the sky and see a blinking star, I want you to know that it's me winking at you; letting you know that I arrived just fine, and telling you "Thank you for the love you gave me".
I say goodbye now, but not a final “Goodbye", more of a “See you later ".
There is a special place in heaven for people like you, where we go, and where life rewards us by letting us meet again.

omg I’m hysterically crying over this beautiful note. My cat is not doing too well and she may survive a little longer. But we’re preparing ourselves for when the time comes. But it’s extremely difficult and we, my children and I, have been doing nothing but crying. But reading this has comforted me & I’m thankful for having read it.

Blitzen - you did such a tremendous job taking care of your humanz. You made all of their lives so much better. I think you even made a believer out of Annabelle. Sweet dreams dearest kitty.
So sorry Blitzen died, but it was good he went quickly. He didn't suffer as much as he would if he lived for weeks. Kidney disease is awful, but still as sick as he was he tried to be a good boy by laying in his litty box, so he didn't pee all over the room. He loved you so much... after awhile you will be left with good memories of him, not just how he suffered. Rest in peace little boy.
I'm so sorry that Blitzen passed, he was obviously given a wonderful life by you all. Thank you Justin for saving him, and his buddy puss. You are a good man, saving these cats, saving little Lazz. God blesses people who do so much good. May he rest in peace, now out of pain. Poor little fella.

I just lost my Lilly and my heart is still so broken. But I thank God for the time I had her. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Blitzen. Yes, they feel vulnerable when they are so sick and rather be alone when passing. God bless him and you for giving him 14 years of a happy life. My cats were always close to each other, expect the other cat to mourn. My cat actually went from room to room peeking his head under beds, crying etc. looking for his brother kitty. I find having pictures around and watching vids of our cats help a lot. Rest in peace Blitzen, he was one lucky cat to have been saved by you.💔
Wow that was an amazing tribute to Blitzen, I cried like a baby. I am a cat person, and I love my cat. I would do anything for my cat. Pets bring so much love and joy to your family, they make your life better. Thank you for sharing Blitzens last days with all of us. I always cry when I see a owner lose their pet. I owned a black cat and a brown and white cat. I named them Tom and Jerry after the Tom and Jerry show. They both passed away when I was 19 years old. Both were at age 16 years old when passed..

Blitzen was very clearly a much-loved kitty. It’s never easy, but I’m sure that he had a beautiful life with your family.
Omg, I am so so sorry! I am fairly new to this channel and never knew you had a cat until yesterday. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of an animal that meant so much to you and your family. I recently lost my cat 2 months ago and it was hard to hear and sad. They are truly like family. But always remember he will be there in your hearts forever. I wish your family all the best.

@Rosie Stephens Yes they are a part of the family. Love is love and loss is loss. We are all made from the same stuff as animals are. They may be less intelligent than people, but if they are lucky to have people who care for them, they love just like we do. Sorry you never knew that love. Please don't get any other animals, I would feel terribly sorry for them.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That’s the hardest thing to accept that when you take on the responsibility for a 15-20 year love of an animal, you will one day have to deal with their passing. I even had that scary thought before getting married or having children, God forbid. But that is when we have to think about the love, happiness, and joy they bring to your life and take that leap of faith that one day you will all be reunited in heaven. I cant stop crying because of a soft spot I have for animals and I have 2 dogs myself that they too will pass one day. Prayers are with you and your family. Find peace in the happy times.
I am so so sorry for your loss. I have worked in vet medicine for many many years. I will tell you it’s never easy when we loose our clients pets. I hope you find comfort in knowing you gave him the best life he could ever ask for. You did everything and more to make him more comfortable. I truly believe we will see our pets again. 💕🙏🏻🐾

Landon needs his own comedy show. This kid is so funny! As a granddaughter of a farmer & spending every second us kids could spend in the summer (our grandparents lived 1.5 & 3 hours away). As soon as school was out we left to go "home" & we didn't return to our house until a day or 2 before time to start school. Living on the farm we learned about gardening (big gardens at least 1/2 acre or more), feed the cows, chickens & hogs. We never had to milk the cows but we were responsible for helping Mom strain the milk, pasteurize the milk & pour it into the jugs & put it in the frig. We also had to remove the cream from the top of the cold milk (cream forms at the top of cold milk) & either put it into the container until there is enough cream to make butter or make butter using a hand operated butter churn. Once the hens stopped laying eggs, we would kill them & prepare them for the freezer to use as we needed them to eat. The hogs, chickens & cows were used to help us have eggs, milk, butter, buttermilk, as well as using them as our source of meat once they were butchered. Because of this, we learned about death as children & I've always been thankful to my parents & grandparents for these lessons of life. This also helped prepare me for death of family members & friends. I know this isn't all we have, that we are here to learn so we can return to our heavenly parents. I'm not saying facing death is always easy because I still mourn deeply for my Dad. He will have been gone 5 years on December 23rd. I am thankful though for the lessons during my childhood because they have helped me to see in real life that death isn't the ends but another rung on the ladder.
I'm so sorry for your loss of your dear Blitzen. I'm sitting here trying to eat my lunch and I have tears in my eyes, It is hard but at least we know he's in a pain free place.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a family pet is like losing a member of your family. We lost our two beloved dogs within 9 months of each other. We still haven't recovered...I think we have PTSD from what we went through during their final days. You have such great memories of your precious kitty...I'm sending you a virtual hug...prayers to you for comfort and healing.
I dont want this to come across as heartless because I love my cats more than most humans lol, so I understand the connection but at least he went quickly rather than letting it go on for a while. Its less painful and easier to heal after losing them rather than seeing them day after day knowing they are in pain
