Jason, omg, you make me emotional with the joy you bring to my heart when you share your passion for beautiful (used as a noun here). People that don't understand what beautiful is are the people who wouldn't watch descriptive conversations...of anything. You have inspired me to show people who I am and the joy I have in my heart for beautiful. I've hidden myself and my passions (due to sham) for 50 years. After an ADD (no H) diagnosis 7 yrs ago Ive been on a massive self discovery journey. Long story, short, I understand who I am (finally) and am working to allow others to understand me too. I now have a room for my creative passions that is slowly taking over my house. Which is exactly what I need to do so others can fully understand who I am. Listening (#1) and watching you has been so helpful to me. Thank you for showing us the genuine passions within the person that is you. ❤
I fell in love with buttons at an early age. I was sick with the measles and stuck in side, so my mother gave me her large tin of buttons (a mixture of my mothers, grandmother's and even my great grandmother's) and found them fascinating and beautiful. I'm 66 yrs old now and have added a few myself. And raising 3 boys and husband it has come in handy on many occasions were a button has been lost and needs a replacement or two. Thank you Jason, you've got a brain with more information then most people could contain in a lifetime of studies ❤
SUSAN!!! Thank you!!! That means the world to me. Button tins are heirlooms of history! I'm so glad u left me a message and thank you for your compliment!!! 💖💖💖
And yes, you are a bit much, in an absolutely perfect way…. I think everyone who is passionate about beautiful objects is usually a bit much. Don’t change yourself a smidge. I appreciate your bitness muchness just as you are. Your eye for beauty in any form is simply impeccable.
Thank you for sharing! I've always loved buttons, but wow, wow, WOW!!! You really could put any of them in a frame and have a beautiful piece of art. I especially love the glass ones and of course the India painted ones. Amazing video, as usual!
Hi Jason. I love watching your video. Very interesting and educational too. You are a good person. Your intention is noble. You are generous. Very interesting person. Thanks
Jason, I knew you were a kindred spirit. I have loved buttons since I was a little girl. My mother was a self taught seamstress. She made a lot of her own clothes and made most of my special dresses. We would go to the fabric store and pick out a pattern and choose the materials together. These are cherished memories that I have of my sweet mother. My mother had an antique cabinet with little drawers in it that she stored her sewing accessories in. She kept her old buttons in match stick boxes, and l loved to search through those boxes and pick out my favorite buttons. On rainy days or sick days from school I would entertain myself for hours at the dining room table searching for treasures. When I got married and moved into my own house, one of the first things I did was I made my own button tin out of a beautiful old biscuit tin that I had found at an estate sale at a beautiful mansion in Point Loma. It was a good sized hinged tin with pretty flowers on it. A girlfriend of mine stoped by on her way to a party, she needed a button for her jeans, so I got my button tin out for her, when she opened it up and saw all my buttons, she asked, you got a thing for buttons, and I said I like old buttons. She told me that her landlord had a bunch of boxes of antique buttons from his grandmother that were stored in a cabinet in her studio apartment. She told me that he’d probably let me have them for next to nothing, so I said find out what he wanted for them, he said he’d let me have em all for a hundred bucks. So I bought the whole collection. It turned out that his grandmother had been a member of the National Button Society for her whole adult life. There were three big boxes packed full of buttons. In the old days women’s stockings came in a fancy flat cardboard box. The stockings were wrapped around a piece of thick paper the size of the box. His grandmother would save the boxes for her buttons. She would cover the paper with black satin or velvet and then sew the buttons on the card and put them back in the box. So that’s how a lot of the buttons came. I believe she would enter them in some kind of competition that the button society had for the County Fair. Then there were buttons in cans and jars and bags, etc. I spent about 6 months sorting and cleaning and going through the collection. I saw an add in the Penny Saver. A woman was looking for antique buttons to buy, so I called her and she came to see what I had. I sold her a small sandwich bag of small Bakelite and celluloid buttons for a $175 and she told me about the National Button Society’s annual Convention that was coming up in Orlando Florida. So I bought a round trip ticket and went to the Convention. I had an Aunt that lived in Orlando. She left me the key to her condo and her car for me to use. I paid for my trip with the money I got for the buttons. That was in 1995. There’s a whole lot more to the story, if you’re interested. I heard about you from Tanya, l just found her a couple of months ago on uTube. I love her auctions on Sundays, she’s another kindred spirit. She shared your name and said we should check out your videos. You had me hooked with your Bakelite video. I love Bakelite too, I have a small collection myself, nothing compared to what you have though. I did recently buy a nice piece of Bakelite from Tanya, a red clamper bracelet. So when I saw you had put up a new video today, you can imagine my delighted surprise to see it was all about your beautiful collection of antique buttons. You are an amazing collector, you’re over the moon with the quality pieces in your collections. I love that you are so passionate about everything beautiful and that you know so much about the history of your treasures. Thank you for sharing, you’re a great teacher! I hope that I can see more of your collection one day, where do you sell at? I’m hoping that you’re in California. I live in San Diego, a true native. I can’t wait to see your next video! You have a new fan here in SD.

Jason - Your love for your collection and your enthusiasm for your passions is so refreshing. Thank you for taking this leap of faith by sharing YOU with us. You have a fan in me!
I think your absolutely gorgeous ring is a focal distraction🥰You are a wealth of God given gifts, so extend grace to yourself. So many treasures go unnoticed in this fast pace life we live of instant things. With all that’s going on in our world, people are getting back to the basics, and appreciative of a persons time, and gifts. I love the Antique Road show, and I pray you get to be in it many times🥰Now that you are putting yourself, your gifts and treasures on video for others to experience, get ready to be bombarded. I pray you stay true to yourself, you have so much to offer🌹🥰
I listened to your EVERY word. Love all you said... I've always been me.....good, bad, but seldom ugly 😂... I will be good to myself....and keep you all close. ❤❤❤
I LOVE vintage and antique jewelry and accessories and WOW you have some of the most amazing pieces I’ve ever seen! I’ve watched all of your videos so far. I have always loved buttons. I used to play with my great grandmother’s buttons. I have never seen such a wonderful collection. Thank you so much for sharing. It was truly a work of love.
Love, Love, Love, watching your videos. I appreciate you being raw and yourself. Your collections are amazing. Love buttons. And all your creations. Keep showing your love and passion for these beautiful items. ❤
I just can't get over how beautiful those buttons are. Imagine there was a time when even buttons were extravagant and exciting to look at. My mum had a button jar, I think all mums/grandmas had one back the day, I used to love playing with those buttons! I don't know what became of that jar sadly.
Yes! Your message us perfect! Every estate sale I did had buttons tins! I played with my moms, and some of those were my grandmothers.....I think that's where my affection may have come from....❤
Jason, this is so incredible these buttons are works of art in and of themselves. It’s funny how the humble button , which we all encounter everyday as we dress can become something so glamorous it can take your breath away…. Thanks so much for letting us drink in the beauty with you, I could get lost forever in this amazing collection…
Oh Jason your heart felt gratitude is touching. I am feeling better and I am looking back at your early videos to enjoy and support you. ❤ and gratitude for you. Sue
You made buttons! What can’t you do maestro!! What a talent of precision and originality! I truly relate to being uninterested in the energy of competitiveness. I love when everyone wins❤ How I admire your devotion to collecting, and so humbling sharing and with the depth of your caring. You are a most magical being⭐️
@lisarincon3527 awe!!!! LISA.....yes. I loved making buttons.... I need to get back to it. I love you my dear friend. 120am... and I go to bed with a smile, because of YOU ♥️♥️♥️
I use youtube as escape from the ugliness of the world here I can choose what I want to see unlike other social media. Beautiful things like jewelry arts craft and other things that make me happy. I got so giddy seeing a new over 40 minutes video from you. I appreciate your love and enthusiasm which radiates throughout your videos and is infectious. My favorite channels I use as a play list and watch til I go to sleep I really enjoy your content
Oh My goodness!! I am so overwhelmed with joy and amazement with this collection Jason. Your organizational skills and attention to detail is formidable! I have a tin full of beautiful buttons from my grandmother that I cherish. I have not gone through Uncles yet. Thank you for this video and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your button collection.
I’m blown away by the detail in these buttons. I have liked buttons and thought they were interesting but obviously I had no idea what the possibilities were! This makes me want to collect buttons! I love how intricately they are made and I can’t forget to mention that I can feel your passion for your collection when I hear you speak. You have so much knowledge! I could listen to you talk for hours!
Jason you are a beautiful light. These buttons reminded me of my late Fiance. When he was young he worked as the manager of laundry in a very Exclusive hotel in Hawaii. This Particular hotel is where Elton John stayed. Only he was to handle, clean his costumes. His manager called him in on day to inform him he would have to let him go !!! To his Astonishment it was to let him tour with Elton John as a personal Valet for his costumes. He said spoke about finding button for his costumes and the hundreds of dollars they cost!!! I still have the newspaper clipping where he was Featured as the king of laundry and Rock & Roll . Thank you for being a beautiful light in the world. BB 💚🌿 agape
HI BB.... I LOVE YOUR COMMENT!!! MADE MY DAY... I did buy one button for my collection that was $800....so yes, they can get so expensive. Thank you so much! I'm so glad you are here with me! 💖✨️💖✨️💖
Great video, I have a button fascination as well & your right, it's not about the value its the craftmanship & detail that goes into it, it's feeling it in your hand, catching it with your eye, knowing the time it took to make that beautiful piece, just the right mix to add a splash to your clothing. your pieces are breath taking. Thank you for sharing
Jason. Just doing some catching up. But I have to say I am so amazed by the beauty of the buttons. I thing the different glass one are my favorites, but it is hard to say. Like most every who is older my stepmother had a button box that I loved to go through, but I never knew your kind of buttons. ❤❤❤
Thank you Jason for sharing part of your beautiful button collection. I never realized there were so many different, intricate and truly lovely buttons. What a joy to look at all the amazing work that went into these buttons. 🥰
The creative that lives in your heart and head is amazing. You have introduced me to the world of buttons like I didn’t know existed. Rock on my friend.
Jason…you are doing a great job and you do not have to make apologies. I am enjoying everything you put up and can’t wait for the next…keep it up…your knowledge and presentation are impressive! Thank you👍😻✌️🐾
You're super talented, Jason, and have a strong connection with your emotional life. I find artists who are honest about what's happening with them are able to make incredible things and also be great communicators.
When you are wealthy enough to have a body servant who dresses you and laundresses and clothing repair maids, yes, you can wear such delicate buttons as the Jerusalem pearl fretwork ones. Ladies were basically walking, occaisionally speaking mannequins, to make a violent movement would be beyond the pale. I am one of the peasants who prefer the freedom of creativity and making beautiful things. Occasionally I need folks to hand me safety pins because my dancing is so wild, everything falls apart, a crazed dionyisian. This is a joy to see such wonderful buttons.
Ok, can we talk about that fabulous cuff your wearing and the other ring now, that octopus? Unreal! So I have to also say that it's not only the amazing collection of buttons you have but how nicely you have displayed them on the cards! That isn't easy and each card was artistically displayed!
Absolutely beautiful your self explanations are well put together to be understood. Your passion as a collector are remarkable. Love anything you bring it inspire me so much.❤
You don’t know how happy I am to have found this video, all of your videos actually. I am a newish button collector and I have been searching for years now for educational videos on buttons and that are very few and have never really been all that helpful. I have tried and tried to find somewhere to learn about MOP buttons and how tell all the different shells apart to no avail or how to date rhinestone buttons, how to be sure the rhinestone buttons I sell are modern and to know for sure that I didnt just sell off a Georgian button for $2. I really look forward to more buttons videos but for right now I will just have to continue binge watching all your older videos. Thank you & I ❤❤❤ your content!
My great grandmother would love your collection. She had so many jars of buttons that I loved looking at as a very little girl. Now I wish I had them! You are awesome Jason.
Jason I just want to thank you again for the generosity you have shown us in taking the time to share part of your beautiful collection and your knowledge. Blew my mind when you brought out ones that you yourself had designed,AMAZING!!! I am with Tanya on my favorites your creations and the painted landscapes. Love,Hugs & Prayers,Tee 💖🙏
I must say that for you to take the time to share your collection is such a treat To be able to see something so beautiful as a button and for you to describe the workmanship involved in making them is much appreciated, even though my mind is on overload right now trying to soak in all the terminology I have never heard of mother/daughter buttons and they have to be my sweet favorites Thank you for sharing!
Jason, I just love you. You have me obsessed. I am interested in all the things you produce videos on. I collect too many things as do you. Kindred Spirits are the best!
I love your videos!! Jewelry is my favorite, but your other possessions are gorgeous as well. I love to learn about jewelry as much as i can. I am hoping to get a few of the books you’ve shown also. Jewelry is just my passion. But my budget is alittle low so I enjoy seeing anyone else’s jewelry collections. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Jason You are just Amazing. I Love everything about you. These videos are so fun to watch and learn from. Absolutely incredible..... not to jump ahead, but I think you should do a series of books like this too with close up pictures. Your Collections are like top line cream of the crop so it is so interesting to actually see everything. I think you are doing a fantastic job and you have a great voice that exudes joy. I'm looking forward to all you do!
@@jasonadams8633 Good timing! It is just your time.... and you shine! You already have loyal followers because of your personality - knowledge - exquisite taste - and amazing collections that everyone wants to see and learn about. You are already Loved by everyone!
I love the education that goes along with your collections. By chance, do you have a collection of antique hair pins? If so I’d love to see and hear about them.
I have watched every one of your shorts. I really enjoy the wealth of knowledge that you offer, the eye candy, and the stellar personality you have! I will be sure to mention your channel in my next video. p.s. I also collect antique buttons but I don't know much about them. I just know they're pretty. I like the intricately carved mop ones, jet, and bakelite.
That butterfly enamelled stunning! Reminds me of the sterling guilloche Scandinavian brooches! But lrts talk about your RING!!!!! Is the round stone onyx? Stunning ring. Honestly I need to stop commenting so much! Lovely lovely pieces! Your more than a collector, your a curator! Isn't it amazing to be the caretaker of these lovely things?!
Jason, that was awesome ~ I'm lost for words!!! What an amazing button collection, and your wealth of knowledge is simply mind-blowing ~ I could listen to you for hours!! I was so excited to spot a few Victorian buttons in my own collection, including a couple of Bakelite buttons too ❤❤ I love the buttons you made ~ the cat Bakelite button is calling my name 😻.... ohhhh my goodness, just when i thought it couldn't get any better ~ you presnt us with the darling 'boxed' bejewelled button set (to die for). Heartfelt thanks for another wonderful video ❤❤❤
I started this video knowing absolutely nothing about buttons. You have opened my eyes and I have a new appreciation for these works of art. When the enamel tray came out I gasped. ( it scared my husband and both dogs😂) Keep these videos coming! I love all the historical knowledge you share. I have a very stressful and emotionally draining job. These videos bring me such joy. Thank you!
Amazing ! I've never seen buttons like your collection before, they are so beautiful. I have a couple of Mason jars full of buttons. They came from my Grandmother & Mother, they are just history to me. I could tell you approx how old I was & what kind of clothing they came from. ( I'm 62 ) They would just be regular buttons to a collector, but I love them anyway. You've opened my eyes to a whole new world. Thank You ! :~)
Amazing! Again..what a collection!! I studied Austrian economics for some time and it very relevant to how much work was put into things when we were on a gold standard, architecture especially, and now I see it with jewellery. Then people were parting with money (gold) that increased in value over time so to part with it, the thing you were purchasing had to be amazing. Now we have paper thats backed by a money printer that is constantly losing value, standards are at zero. This will sound way out to most people but sadly it's true hence we now produce too much rubbish en mass. Thankyou for another glimse into a world of quality craftmanship ❤
Jason…You did it again…you just acquired another fan! Last week when I first went into a new auction, you were so helpful and friendly. Thank you for being so kind. I was curious as to why a lot the other people in the room were so enamored with you…then I discovered your channel today and totally get it!!! Wow, you are impressive to say the least. I truly think you’re my brother from another mother! I swear, when you described your journey into jewelry and other antiques, it mirrored my experience almost to a tee. I was shocked. Our evolution into jewelry is so similar it’s uncanny. 😮 I am so looking forward to more of your videos. You’re wonderful and so informative. 😊

Thanks a bunch!🥰🥰🥰

I’m blown away by the detail in these buttons. I have liked buttons and thought they were interesting but obviously I had no idea what the possibilities were! This makes me want to collect buttons! I love how intricately they are made and I can’t forget to mention that I can feel your passion for your collection when I hear you speak. You have so much knowledge! I could listen to you talk for hours!
Melissa!!!! What a beautiful comment! You made me so happy. I can't find the right words. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi my sweet twin. I've loved you since day one. Even when we got sat in a corner for being TOO MUCH in a chat 😂😂😂😂😂. I adore you, always will. ❤️ ❤❤
@@jasonadams8633 I'll wear a dunce hat with you any day!!!!! Same same Twinstar ❤❤❤

Jason…you are doing a great job and you do not have to make apologies. I am enjoying everything you put up and can’t wait for the next…keep it up…your knowledge and presentation are impressive! Thank you👍😻✌️🐾
Thank you so much❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're super talented, Jason, and have a strong connection with your emotional life. I find artists who are honest about what's happening with them are able to make incredible things and also be great communicators.
Thank you for sharing your collection and knowledge! So beautiful!!
Thank you. Love your videos too! ❤❤❤
🥰Mary, thank you! More videos coming soon on buttons!!! 🥰
Ok, can we talk about that fabulous cuff your wearing and the other ring now, that octopus? Unreal! So I have to also say that it's not only the amazing collection of buttons you have but how nicely you have displayed them on the cards! That isn't easy and each card was artistically displayed!
Thank you Sunshine! ❤️❤️❤️
I love your shorts and videos. Thank you for sharing your collection. I can’t wait to see more!
Thank you so much for being here

Great information thanks so much Jason we love what you do❤
💙💕💙💕💙
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰thank you so much. I appreciate you!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Lmao❤😂❤
I must say that for you to take the time to share your collection is such a treat
To be able to see something so beautiful as a button and for you to describe the workmanship involved in making them is much appreciated, even though my mind is on overload right now trying to soak in all the terminology
I have never heard of mother/daughter buttons and they have to be my sweet favorites
Thank you for sharing!

Jewelry is just my passion. But my budget is alittle low so I enjoy seeing anyone else’s jewelry collections. Thank you so much for sharing ❤

I love the education that goes along with your collections. By chance, do you have a collection of antique hair pins? If so I’d love to see and hear about them.

❤❤❤I actually am a curator, so ironic you would say that!!!! You made my day. Love to you! ❤❤❤
Jason, that was awesome ~ I'm lost for words!!! What an amazing button collection, and your wealth of knowledge is simply mind-blowing ~ I could listen to you for hours!! Thank you Brenda
Thank You ! :~)
That is GREAT! YOU MADE MY DAY! All buttons are important .. think of the hands thar rubbed across them each day. Amazing reminders of out past
Wow Sally!!! Yes! I hear every word. I appreciate your comments and support. THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Just wow.....
Thank you Carly.. I'm just getting warmed up!!!❤❤❤
I absolutely love that horse button
❤❤❤
Wow. What a comment! Your support and kindness is incredible! Thank you so much!!! 💜💙💚
