What a beautiful and heartbreaking cover of one the best songs ever written (the amazing Joni Mitchell) from the wonderful and incomparable Tori Amos. Love. Haters back off. Hehe:)
Hello Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta. I was born in Cardston, Alberta...She was born in a beautiful little town. The fort is still there. I am very proud of her.
Benjamin Walkenhorst hi I know your post was ages ago but would love to know what you think of my 17 year old grandsons cover of this ruclips.net/video/MArMeRLQCCY/видео.html
She would have been capable of singing this wonderfully when she was in her 30s. I remind you all she's 57 and vocal chords age too. The proof is she made a beautiful cover of A Case Of You decades ago. Look for it. Tori's voice was as good as Joni Mitchell's (and Joni's voice aged too)
age or not, she still sounds amazing and i respectfully disagree with that comment about her being capable of singing it better. Sounds beautiful here!
I think the people leaving super negative comments just don't like Tori Amos. I was expecting so much worse, especially since I've been pretty critical of her voice the past few years, but she actually sounds pretty good here.
kudos to Tori for her excellent taste in songs but watch Betty Buckley singing The River live here on RUclips Only the very best can take on Joni and Betty Lyn is the very best
If you dont know the original, then you could say this is a nice Tori song. If you do know the original, you can see how poor Tori is against that. It speaks greatly about just how good a singer Joni was.
I just love Tori but I think no one can even pretend to be as good as Joni. Joni is so simple, sober, soft. She sings it just the way it has to be sung, Tori is too mannered.
Awful. I usually love Tori but she simply doesn't have the vocal chops or fragility to pull this off. Joni sings it with an unaffected purity but Tori sounds too hard, too affected to make it work. I hate giving it a bad reaction, but this is just terrible.

she's being herself, she's written so many songs and built a career on that. Most musical artists do covers in concert, and she's not trying to be Joni here.
This rendition is always in my head ❤

What a great capture here! Thank you!
ugh. this is beautifully heartbreaking...
Absolutely beautiful rendition!!!!
Oh tori. I love this song and you did it so well.
Joni Mitchell is incredible, Madeleine Peyroux's version with K.D. Lang is also amazing, and now this one! I'm breathless, Tori is just perfect!!!
Best. Christmas song. Ever.
I mean it.

indigo girls have a wonderful version of this song also... ToriAmos is the greatest!!! ....even though the indigo girls made me tear up with theirs!!

For this song maybe. Tori's version of A Case of You is better.
Love Tori. Hate this cover.
not nearly as good a singer as joni but a much better pianist
meh
It drives me NUTS that she is not singing the words. Not sure of her logic...
Not sure what you mean? That is the full lyric, there is no more...

horrid
Sorry but not guite.. teach my feet to fly -runs remains bleak, ihihii aijaijjai..
I've just heard her name for a few times but only based on this footage I saw, she's so poor at singing.
You should watch her when she was young, not now she's 57. The voice ages too

Not only is she bad at being the fake Kate Bush, Ms. Amos is even worse at trying to channel Joni. Sorry Tori, keep your day job.

after almost three decades of surviving the music industry and enormous acclaim, maybe you should start seeing her as her own person?
