I stopped reading german Metal Hammer and Rock Hard since they've fallen into the woke maelstrom, using gendered, inclusive idiot language, being moralising and SJW and all that non-sense. Some of the old Rock Hard staff have founded another mag and some few years ago, when the other mags started their bullshit, they wrote they are not excluding anyone, but they keep using the old style of writing because it's easier to read. Watching the tears as Bruce Dickinson came out in support of Brexit was one of the high points of my life.
The tears from all the 'fans' was delicious.
Alice Cooper as Governor, I would be for that. It would funny as hell hearing the media complaining about "big golf".
the Telecommunications Act of 1996, along with the Clear Channel and Cumulus duopology, killed metal.
Not wrong. The major labels love that shit.
@joeylummox7330 the major labels wrote that shit
Had to pause your alter persona's video to watch this one. =D
Back in a minute, Styx. Papa Raz0r's speaking.
"Metal media is just the Wall Street Journal with guitar solos."
I don't know who that burns more.
@@mattstanford9673 It was The Washington Compost not WSJ.
I don't think there is any other 3-word combination that will discredit someone's entire message more effectively than: "As a Canadian".
Lmao. Yeah
As a vegan.
Iced Earth dude is 100% correct. Anyone who vilifies him is unAmerican
He’s correct the same way a broken clock is.
They're gonna say black people invented metal soon ,just like they dod with country music
Metal will never die
The gods made heavy metal and they saw that is was good
They said to play it louder than Hell
We promised that we would
When losers say it's over with you know that it's a lie

- The Gods Made Heavy Metal, Man O War.
Great song.
Right after GamerGate, online outlets that covered metal - and by that I mean everything from metalcore to scene stuff like Pierce the Veil to beatdown death stuff like The Acacia Strain started putting out articles about how metal wasn't friendly to women, how most pits were misogynistic because they made women feel uncomfortable, how lyrics were offensive to minorities and marginalized groups, etc.
Was always a wtf because you're really heavy shit ranging from old Cannibal Corpse to Chelsea Grin and Suicide Silence (I'm not even touching Black Metal) is all about the most brutal and desolation of bodies and life shit compared to most genres.
The safe space stuff really falls short into the whole point of the hardcore scene where there is no safe area at a show.
It's like all the writers for these mags got carried away trying to portray themselves as progressive, safe, and basically modern day Howard Stern.
Yup, around that time BangerTV also interviewed "Zoe Quinn" (notice the quotes, cause she is fake as all hell) in regards to "women and safe-spaces in Metal". That's all you need to know about that.
Current Metal journalist?🤣🤣🤣
My Boomer self is still stuck listening to Metal from the 80' & 90's. Metal journalist, you're like my favorite FEAR FACTORY album, OBSOLETE.
Can't beat the classics.
I've got a sudden urge to listen to SHOCK!
A friend of mine just released an album with John Gallagher of Raven on bass, it's called 'Treacherous Ways' and the band is Helm's Deep. Now THAT album made me feel like HEAVY METAL IS NOT DEAD!!!!!!!!! It's top tier metal, I recommend checking it out!!!!!!!! EDIT: Nice shirt
Just checked them out. They fuckin rock! Would love to see a live show.
@@breadnaut3087Awesome!!!! Glad you listened! I think they’re so good, not enough people are familiar with them yet.
@@breadnaut3087 Awesome! Glad you liked them, I am a huge fan.
Just had a listen, first the album art is old school AF and I love it!
Second they freakin rock!
Excellent!!!!! I'm glad you loved it!!!!!!
make black metal hate again!
There's a band called Murd3r R4p3 (gotta censor because of KidsTube) in my country. Nothing but love and good feelings. Own 2 of their albums.
If it weren't for Fenriz being a great ambassador, the genre would be dead.
It sounds like shit, for the most part.

There are still Black Metal-bands that don't give a crap about being accessible or political correctness. A lot of them come from Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. And a large part of them have certain "controversial" points of view.
Whoa that's the first time I've heard him say the catch phrase without "fuckin"....btw Metal heads are statistically the happiest people on earth. No time for B.S. too busy being happy. 🤘
Wonder why he dropped it.
returned to his orignal outro@@ulfrick11
@ulfrick11 possibly got de-monietised. (I think that is how you spell it, never written it before ha!)
I was a metal blogger from 2007 to 2011, albeit a crappy one. BW stole an article from my small potatoes blog word-for-word, thinking it was just another press release and didn't credit me. Metal "Cucks" (I love that BTW) has been a lib opinionated blog for as long as I can remember. Does anyone even still read metal blogs? Love the content. Keep up the good work!
Whats funny is metal may not be as mainstream in America anymore but hell look at how many amazing metal bands are out of the Scandinavia region or out of Italy or the Nordic countries, hell Look at all the amazing metal bands out of Asia mainly the far east and the south asian countries even the middle east and Africa have grear metal bands. So no metal is not dead in fact if you are actually paying attention its far more alive then it ever has beenyiu hust need to kniw where to look
Great rant. Went to a record store near me recently and noticed the Used CD section was full of Iced Earth albums. That's the metalhead of nowadays, selling their Iced Earth CDs for dirt cheap because they buy into nonsense, but imma keep my Days of Purgatory CD.
I also share your opinion of The Glorious Burden being Iced Earth's best record. I saw them on that tour and it was amazing.
I'm still so pissed off about what Jon went through. That dude is the REASON I became a dedicated musician at 16, and I never fucking stopped. I may not share all of his beliefs, but making him a martyr just because of his fame and influence is such bullshit. He should have been charged with nothing more than trespassing in a federal building, period. It's literally the only thing he did that is against the law.
The big three music corporations don't promote metal in the US anymore. That's the problem with the current generations. They don't know how to rock because they haven't been exposed to it. The metal is currently residing in Sweden.
Sadly, you are correct
"The metal is currently residing in Sweden" - and Germany, specifically when it comes to the more extreme genres.
@@stevekramerf242 Sweden is the epicenter at the moment. Hardcore Superstar, Crashdiet, Backyard Babies, Mustasch, Deathstars.... Sweden be rocking. What they give us here in the US? Musical castration.

Metal is inherently masculine. Leftism is inherently effeminate. The reason that so many left-wingers feel the need to do "metal journalism" is due to their inability to penetrate the bands themselves. Sure there will always be counterexamples, but they are the exception, not the rule. So, unable to convince most bands or fans to adopt woke beliefs, they try to act as a middle-man and reinterpret everything said and done by the bands through a leftist-framework. Metal can't be communist, based purely on the fact that so much of the music is based on hard-work to achieve a very high level of skill over your instrument. It's craftsmanship. Something that communists don't understand. They also don't understand the idea of certain things being held in high regard as timeless classics, believing that everything should be reduced to a nihilistic pile of garbage.
Agreed. There's also a core theme of individuality, inherently anti commie.
This is just like comics isn't it?🤔
Also this makes it official.
RUclips notifications are working better for me than Twitters.
How sad is that.😂
I still say, Razorfist you really need to one up that lefty in offering up a video defining, yes from your perspective, all the metal/hard rock genres. You taught us how to tell death metal from black metal, one is Cookie Monster sounding, the other is wailing banshees.
As a Torontonian I ask for you to please show that twit up. Also, maybe a series on the history of the genres?
Patiently awaiting for your future Metal/Music Mythos, bring on the Prince love and Sabaton love. 😉
im not defending sam dunn, but what exactly is the beef with him? did he say or do something publically?

It was a typical control the narrative despite it being his opinion.
As for Razorfist, only he can say for sure, but I’d say it may be for similar reasons as my own.
Would be fun to have a "Heavy Metal History and Genres taught by Professor Fist" video, probably be EFAP Mauler levels of Long.

Wise words from a wise man.
Wait, Metal Sucks still exists?
Weird how the people who complain about fascism all the time never complain about communism.
