Absolutely fabulous!!! The cool vibe is palpable. The attention to detail amazing. It's so wonderful to see something other than the 'big white box' with no character. The fireplace on the patio is too much!!! Love it. Just beautiful. And, I'm sure the neighbors are pleased and jealous :)
Magic. The wall tiles are reminiscent of Girard's tile colors and are so appropriate here. Love that you have an ADU for a studio, but when you convert a garage to a different use the cars sit out on the property or street, it negatively affects the neighborhood aesthetic. Still, kudos. Especially the outdoor fireplace and tiles you designed.
You have created a beautifully designed and very livable home. I love the connection between the inside/outside and the desert landscape of your backyard. Well done!

Nice rebuild. I have been looking for years to buy a home in a place similar to Ojai. I love the area and would give my right arm to live in such a beautiiful town. Good luck finding anything for sale unless you are super rich. Especially of late. Most of the limited homes for sale require complete renovation and remodeling. There really is nothing for sale.

Mid Modern Century used to be affordable for the mid income earning families... Now it's just a fad only the rich can afford.. I love this house design, reminiscent of those Eichler and FLW houses mid century, incorporates Japanese and Scandinavian ideas, I'm happy for her she is an amazing artist
Not to sound toxically envious, but how the heck are people affording these sorts of renovations? I have a pretty damn good salary and couldnt imagine doing this even if I invested a good deal of manual effort.

The brick tiles remind me of the tiles in the Alexander Girard house in Detroit, I wonder if that was also an influence. Excellent piece.
