I love it! I was absolutely in love with Final Fantasy Tactics, but somehow never played this one. So, the remake is my first foray into Tactics Ogre. Watching his vids has gotten my hype from crazy to insane hahahaha. I have off work today just cuz, but got vacation pay days off tomorrow and Saturday hehehe

Tactics Ogre seems to do what Disgaea did later, letting you have 10 units and stuff, which is so cool!! I am gonna make lole 3-4 versions of various classes, and make custom fun teams of mostly monotype units or different interesting combos haha

Haven’t played since I was a kid and was hoping it was on steam but TOR came up and I was like oh wow I’ve heard of this but never played, I’ll look into it. Dooood, I love how you get those XP nugget things to level people up. With how many units you can make and different things to try out, it makes a big difference for being able to try out new combos. So excited!!!

Reminds me of the bonus xp system in the tellius fire emblem games (but without the annoying worse level up if you use it to cross 99 to 100 xp lol), really like having rewards for playing the game instead of needing to grind for everything.
I love your enthusiasm on the franchise. I pray we get a OB64 remake in HD just like they did with this hopefully better though. I'm not crazy about graphics with games like this but I know they can make some crazy good looking stuff with today tech. Please revive my precious.
I’ve been watching a few videos from you since you were able to show some of the early-game stuff. Discovered the One Vision mod because of that, but I’ve had to force myself to not dive into that too deeply. I don’t want to burn myself out on TO before I get my hands on Reborn, since this is going to consume an ungodly amount of hours in my future, and I couldn’t give the PSP version a deep run due to neck issues forcing me to stop most handheld gaming. Thank you for the mechanical dive, I like learning a little about how the systems work with each other-especially if I’m going to be spending a lot of time in it.
One vision mod will most likely be the BEST way to play. Like it’s insane how much was changed by one guy and how much better he made it. It continues to get updated to this day
Another FYI: Several of the dev team behind this strategic RPG (of the original, the PSP remake, and this remaster) have worked on great games like Final Fantasy Tactics, FF XII, FFXIV and even on the upcoming FFXVI so quality is asured!
I didnt play tactics ogre too much in my life, but one of my favorite games of all time is FF tactics, and see you talking about this game with such enthusiasm makes me sure that I'm going to enjoy this game a lot!

Bought this game for the 3rd and 4th times now (PS5 and Switch) and I still own my PSX and PSP copies of the game. The only game I’ve purchased more times than Tactics Ogre is Final Fantasy VI, which in my opinion is the greatest video game ever created. As far as I’m concerned, Tactics Ogre sits in a class with FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and and FFT as my all time favorites. Excited as hell to be playing through this journey again.
Are you even more excited about the perspective of a Final Fantasy Tactics Reborn? We can assume Square will learn from Tactics Ogre Reborn and maybe take it even further!

The music slaps lol yep totally agree. It was the first thing that had me stop and go whoa that's amazing. I'm still trying to find my groove with the skill up system, compared to spending points on desired skills, then ranking them up. So skills are automatically rewarded upon leveling instead of purchased with points. And if you change class, you already get the skills for the new job based on the characters level. Initially both felt kind of cheap to me since I either didn't get to buy/choose the skill with points, or that when changing class I didn't have to 'earn' the new skills. Now that I've played longer I'm appreciating these areas being simplified. But I'm still wondering about the depth. What skills 'rank up? Weapon skills obviously. But others might be hidden or there is no rank up? Like magic/elemental? I've seen Spirit Surge used and say that there was a skill up. But I don't see a skill up/rank up indicator on the actual skill/spell.
Started listening. Got about 6 mins in. Then decided "Actually it seems like he had so much fun figuring this out I want to do it on my own too". Can't wait. Is there any form of resurrecting a dead unit after battle, any kind of potion like the equivalent to give back hearts? Like carrying around the corpse like in PSP before you nommed them for another character? Or is it just outright permadeath?

The lizards feel so good now, Hoplites shrugging off damage, Patriarchs being prima donnas, and the Juggernauts just serpentining around with that disgusting 7 movement, turning off shield moves....man they're good.

I love almost everything I am seeing except not being able to change Denam's name at the beginning and the fact that Lombardia is no longer Air Elemental just doesn't sit well with me, not sure why. I already pre-ordered since way back, and I am going to play the living hell out of this game but I hope we can get some PC mods that let us change back the elemental affinity of weapons so Lombardia is back to Air Elemental, as it should be.
1. What are the conditions to obtain the Angels/Lich class in Reborn? Is it different, same as the original (SNES/PSX), or same as LUCT (PSP)? 2. Are there any changes to the missable Tittle Orders "NO incap, deaths, & chariot"? (Is a new game still required once you mess them up?)
I'm wondering this as well, i was heart broken angel knight was gutted in PSP version and hope they made them worthy of the class. lich was "good" but it also wasn't worth the title due to the effort to make one.
@@shadowsage2636 Angels were different in PSP but they were pretty OP in their own rights; HOWEVER, they certainly were not worth the WAIT & enormous hassle to get.
So which class got the rouges highest movement if any even got it at all? I hope they at least made a new class or a previous one we didn’t have to replace the huge hole left behind by removing it. I’ll always miss the rogue how dare you say no one will! Haha 😂 You mentioned later on in the story/chapters we can potentially be able to initiate world map/random battles, did this turn out to be true or is it all dumbed down training battles the whole way through? These are my biggest concerns. Oh and in the end are you purposely fighting lower level enemies? Cause they seem to be 4-5 levels lower than you lol I want this game to be challenging. Excellent work man!
Mistranslation, I assume, but they do feel new. Every wanted to take Hobyrim, and stack, oh, I dunno, Preempt, Course Correction, Sharpshoot, and Instill to have him blindly bullet bend his rifle for a kill before the crossbow even fires? Dang right you did.
Are the enchiridion drops guaranteed or do you have to reload for the right enemies to show? Also are they the same enemies to where guides on LUCT work for farming those recipes? Also with the rogue being gone, what happened to the steal-exclusive items? - one example would be the ring from the reaper monster in phorampa? Blowguns as well are they still viable and insane as in LUCT? Last question, are unique RT's still lowest on characters like Ozma?
Steal items seem to be drops or rewards. Ozma is still fast. Drops are mostly guaranteed on bosses now, but seem to have backups. Like I got a card from the Fusil guy, but still got the book after the fight.
I planned on not playing Reborn right away as I only recently began playing the psp version and actually reached the endgame in the last weeks. And it looks like destiny, cause my psp broke the day before release...guess I'm a buyer after all :)
Epic video, truly a joy to watch, can't wait to get the game tonight! Question: the Wight who drops the book that fell off! In _Reborn_ are unique item drops/missable items (before World) from particular enemies guaranteed 100% drops now? Or.... do the same old days of chariot'ing back... endlessly.... to pop the drop still exist?
I am very excited to play this as well, specially as a player of the PSP port and One Vision. My biggest questions are do healers scale well into endgame like OV and do scrolls still are broken like the PSP port in Reborn?
@@CoffeePotato Great that clerics are good and scrolls are not a factor. If the monsters are more balanced with humanoids at endgame as well then it is set and I can safely build my hydra and golem when I get to play.
While I'm waiting your answer on part I video i I would like to ask you what do you think about the missing tarot card system :)… I mean was one of the coolest thing on the game and I loved to collect tarot cards and use it when I needed it....and now is all gone :(

How are the Divine Knights in this version? I heard that Terror Knights are now doing fine. I just hope that DKs are on the same boat as them.
I wish I knew. So far I've been deep diving this thing mechanically for a month, and haven't even found one yet. I will make a video on just those as soon as I know, though.
Do you know which classes have double attack? Buccaneer and Ninja I assume still? And Swordmaster looks awesome now. Most favourite is instill rune Fencer can make my OC Spellblade to bring through my first switch law playthrough before unlocking other route characters and doing a perfect Law through Coda again :) hope lots of drops are easier to get. Saw you got priest classmark from a bonus objective you said, maybe Necro and other classes easier to get now? So now small thrown axes and javelins you've seen? Disappointing as one of my favourites was a rogue with a knife and tomohawk early but would like to have any unit able to use a melee and a thrown like hoplite as a skirmisher I forget, is Lindl chapter 4? Him and Azelstan and Ravness are some of my favourite sprites so want to get them on first "just messing around" playthrough to have them for all of them

I assume you are recording this on the Steam version? If so have you experienced any performance issues? I'd like to buy on Steam for the modding potential, but SE PC releases are kinda iffy at times.
I am sure it's in one of the videos, but I gotta know... Did they rebalance the weapon and elemental modifiers? Like, are bows, daggers, and 1h katanas still stupidly overpowered, and everything 2h is crap? And did they make the elemental passives less game breaking?
My fear Is " Will this game be as hard as before with all this improvements and removing LV requirement for wapons and abilities? ". This Is my biggest fear so far, or the late dungeons Will they be hard? Because this time you can easily get an Op squad...
I found it easier than one vision, poor AI and just rely on buffs and debuffing the enemy. The game can revolve around this strategy and you'll win. I found it very shallow. I hope we don't remake final fantasy tactics, I wouldn't touch it, and they'll no doubt ruin another great game.
I'm not liking this, what feels to be a dumbed down and nerfed, skill system. Also the cards popping out of thin air instead of from defeated enemies is weird.
It's weird to get used to some of the changes, but I feel like it did what it needed to do to get new folks into the game, while mostly giving us old timers a challenge mode. It's not as feature rich as One Vision, but there's already several modding projects going on...which apparently can go between versions, if you happen to have a moddable units? More on that when it happens. Bit of a bummer that Squenix apparently pulled a Squenix, and isn't allowing some of the weird stuff to be patched before some other nonsense in the background.
*CP mentions "Bling Guardian"* Of course... it was fate that had designated CP as the based apostle of Tactics Ogre/Ogre Battle. 🧐Also, kudos to the dev team for putting in the work on the game's combat, and unit customization system. Some tactical rpg's have their neat gear equipping, character classes, but Tactics Ogre... customization runs *deep* on this one. 🔍📊🧮♟

No on Faeries, but I don't know what else they can be. I got a lich in CH4 in PG, Necro from the Temples. I'd assume CH3 Chaos still has one.

Are the enchiridion drops guaranteed or do you have to reload for the right enemies to show? Also are they the same enemies to where guides on LUCT work for farming those recipes? Also with the rogue being gone, what happened to the steal-exclusive items? - one example would be the ring from the reaper monster in phorampa? Blowguns as well are they still viable and insane as in LUCT? Last question, are unique RT's still lowest on characters like Ozma?
Steal items seem to be drops or rewards. Ozma is still fast. Drops are mostly guaranteed on bosses now, but seem to have backups. Like I got a card from the Fusil guy, but still got the book after the fight.
I planned on not playing Reborn right away as I only recently began playing the psp version and actually reached the endgame in the last weeks. And it looks like destiny, cause my psp broke the day before release...guess I'm a buyer after all :)

Question: the Wight who drops the book that fell off! In _Reborn_ are unique item drops/missable items (before World) from particular enemies guaranteed 100% drops now? Or.... do the same old days of chariot'ing back... endlessly.... to pop the drop still exist?

Important drops are set, like all of the temple crafting books seemingly being moved on the bosses the first time around.
Hmm so If it’s just for example a leviathan mail that drops from a certain monster in floor 50 of potd it wouldn’t be a guaranteed drop ?
I am very excited to play this as well, specially as a player of the PSP port and One Vision. My biggest questions are do healers scale well into endgame like OV and do scrolls still are broken like the PSP port in Reborn?
No scrolls, the magic just works as intended now. Healers don't technically scale, but they hold up as well as OV clerics for sure
@@CoffeePotato Great that clerics are good and scrolls are not a factor. If the monsters are more balanced with humanoids at endgame as well then it is set and I can safely build my hydra and golem when I get to play.

Do you know which classes have double attack? Buccaneer and Ninja I assume still? And Swordmaster looks awesome now. Most favourite is instill rune Fencer can make my OC Spellblade to bring through my first switch law playthrough before unlocking other route characters and doing a perfect Law through Coda again :) hope lots of drops are easier to get. Saw you got priest classmark from a bonus objective you said, maybe Necro and other classes easier to get now?

I found it easier than one vision, poor AI and just rely on buffs and debuffing the enemy. The game can revolve around this strategy and you'll win. I found it very shallow. I hope we don't remake final fantasy tactics, I wouldn't touch it, and they'll no doubt ruin another great game.

I'm not liking this, what feels to be a dumbed down and nerfed, skill system. Also the cards popping out of thin air instead of from defeated enemies is weird.
Meh, beat it twice, on switch, can't refund, I liked the psp version the best. I really don't feel I made a good decision buying this.
It's weird to get used to some of the changes, but I feel like it did what it needed to do to get new folks into the game, while mostly giving us old timers a challenge mode. It's not as feature rich as One Vision, but there's already several modding projects going on...which apparently can go between versions, if you happen to have a moddable units? More on that when it happens.
Bit of a bummer that Squenix apparently pulled a Squenix, and isn't allowing some of the weird stuff to be patched before some other nonsense in the background.
