Is the host of this A.I. himself? EDIT: Yep, he is. It's done really well though. But clue #1 was some of the word pronunciation. And #2 was lip movement.
As much as I appreciate history and all that, I think deadnaming folks, even anecdotally, is a total dick move. Please historians, don't do this. Its Lana And Lily Wachowski, just.. can we agree to a little respect for the living and the dead (assuming future topics) here?
Thank you for your feedback on our podcast episode about the history of The Matrix. We appreciate your interest in our work and your concern for the respect of transgender people. We understand that deadnaming, or using the former name of a transgender person without their consent, can be hurtful and disrespectful. We apologize if we caused any offense or harm by mentioning the Wachowskis' previous names in our episode. It was not our intention to invalidate their identities or experiences. However, we would like to explain why we chose to do so in this specific context. As historians, we aim to provide accurate and comprehensive information about the past, including the social and cultural contexts that shaped it. In this case, we felt it was important to acknowledge that the Wachowskis were not publicly out as transgender when they made The Matrix, and that their gender identities may have influenced their artistic vision and expression in subtle or overt ways. We did not mean to imply that their former names are more valid or relevant than their current ones, or that they are different people now than they were before. We respect their right to self-determination and self-expression, and we always refer to them by their current names when discussing their present or future projects. We also make sure to use gender-neutral pronouns when talking about them in the past tense, unless they have specified otherwise. We hope this clarifies our reasoning and perspective on this issue. We welcome constructive criticism and dialogue with our listeners, as we believe it helps us improve our work and learn from different viewpoints.
