Only tips you need are these, check the market prices and know what you want to pay, make sure its a sensible figure, go to the dealership with the mindset your walking away (always good to view multiple cars anyway) and when you get down to prices dont mention whether its finance or cash.
Turns up at a dealership, test drives the car i came to see, they look at me like ive got 2 heads as i & the mrs begin pulling 10k out, then tell me they don't take cash, fuming! phone around and they're all knocking me back. Go to put it in bank, they start asking questions as if i'm some hoodlum, end up telling them to stick it, 10 months later i'm still driving my old car. bloody ridiculous.
That might be true, but to a negligible degree only. Firstly, because if a car looks, and is, saleable and was driven to the dealership, the dealer is going to stop a fair way short of worrying what's wrong with it, because, 2ndly, P/X prices are set and guided, on, amongst others, two things. A)reasonable attraction for the client. B)to take reasonable repair costs into account. So clean your car all you want. Your dealer will know the truth of the car by the bits you miss anyway and chances are, he'll look at a clean, tidy car and think: "this one might've been looked after!" Your only problem will come, if you've *GOT* something to hide!!!
@@michaelrawson6261 I valued trade-ins for 50 years. Over-cleaning made me spend more time on the valuation. Most over-cleaned cars had something to hide.
Mike... How can you drive a better deal with finance !... If the dealer gets an earner and so does the finance company where is that money coming from?... Your pocket!!!
You can (carefully) arrange a finance deal that allows for payback at anytime without penalty. IF the reduction in intial price is more than the interest payments in the short-term, you win overall. It's not easy BUT it can be done - I've done it twice over the last 9 years.
Was that it? I want to know of say you know the vehicle is due a cam belt/chain soon should you ask for it to be done or ask for money off towards the cost? Is there a general percentage dealers are likely to be will to knock off? Can you haggle for warranty to be extended?……….
Mike, please guide me: if I were to go into a dealership with no px involved and intending to buy either a brand new or nearly new car on 4‐year pcp finance, roughly what percentage discount could I realistically request I those circumstances? Let's say the car I'd be interested in had an asking price of £22k. Also, how exactly how would I politely but firmly go about it all...?

How is paying on finance getting you a better deal, when the overall amount you pay is more than if you pay cash.

You can buy a car paying cash, but you don't need to say that loud and proud forward.
@@sigun0 I seriously don't think THAT is what MB had in mind. Remember, he's just a car salesman.

For those who don’t like Mike he has a great reputation to think about I wish all car dealership’s did the same
A very useful vid that didn't take up too much time. Thanks.
Do a background check on the car with a company like vcheck or car vertical ignore hpi
Superb simple and great advice.
Don't over clean your part-exchange though, because that will make the dealer think you're hiding something.

Great tips for consumers Mike! Great honest advice.
🤣
How can it be a better deal if you take a finance option instead of cash, finance means debt meant interest means more money out of your pocket.
