Big thumbs-up to Mrs Defpom! I like the golf cart idea, it would of course need a stereo with Bluetooth, GPS nav system and dash cam.😂 Regards, David

1mm aluminium sheet and a pair of jewellers metal tin snips are always handy to have around an EE workshop.

I tend to buy stuff in multiples too!
I have a screwdriver set in the car, I have a screwdriver set in the shed, and I have a screwdriver set in the shed!
Drills I have a plenty, between the house and the shed.
Sure the shed is like a 5mtr walk out the back door, but then when you take it out of the shed, you have to remember to put it back in the shed, otherwise when you need it in the shed, you have to go searching for it!
Plus when 1 breaks, you have a spare, and these days, that's a good thing to have, especially when you find a good product, nothing worse than getting a good product, then years later it breaks, and you can no longer buy it anymore!

Lucky you for having more than one shed.

@@repairman2be250 I only have 1 shed. Oh I see the problem, one of those sheds should have been 'house'.

You need one more cutter as there is different for left, right and straight cutting.

It's funny because if laptops actually had proper grounding pins on the power cable, it wouldn't be an issue.
When I was working for a mobile cinema (2001 to 2020), once we started moving more digital (around 2006), we started seeing this issue more and more, and it was the laptop. Unplug the laptop from its charger, and the humm disappears on the speakers, plug it in, and the humm is there, could also just disconnect the 3.5mm from the laptop, but we kinda needed that plugged in.
Essentially the laptop was sending a signal through the 3.5mm to the mixing board to use its ground pin, and because of that, the entire audio system would play the phantom noise, not very professional for a mobile cinema :P

51.9 ohms and 61.5 ohms on my supposedly 600 ohm isolation transformer. But, that is DC resistance and not AC reactants.
I noticed the USA engraved on those "gold plated" spade connectors 🤔 It looks like Chineseium to me. Your wife is fantastic. Red handled for right side, blue handled for left side 😂
I do have a question: I'm looking for a capacitor for my old black and white tube TV. The original is a 22uf @ 315 WV. I know WV is "working volts" but today's capacitors are labeled in DC volts. How do DC volts compare to working volts?

    • @AnnaVannieuwenhuyse
      @AnnaVannieuwenhuyse Месяц назад +1

The DC volts rating is the working voltage rating. It stems from the time when some capacitors had AC ratings too. Working voltage in this case meant the technician should convert the AC voltage reading or requirement to peak voltage, from RMS to peak.
For DC, you can assume 400wv is 400vdc

Pomona uses the old ESI type kelvin clips, which is what I use with some meters. I prefer them, along with gold-plated banana or forked connections when measuring precise components.

@6:35 One plate cutter for each hand, am I right? - 'Cos we wouldn't want either of them to get jealous now, would we? 🙃
    - Then all you'll need is a crab costume and you've also got halloween covered, two stones with one bird 🥸😆
    - Just pulling your leg... I've got 3 of those. They came as a set.
