So glad everyone is speaking up recently and going back to show off the older games. Especially after the sims 5 may be online announcements (we all know ea can bungle this) Going back to the old games and showing off their prowess sends a strong message and im glad the community is coming together to show maxis what we really want With para lives inbound, they may just get their act together
I wasn't old enough to play the Sims 2 when it was properly out and I'd really like to get it to see what the other simmers did back then. I played Sims 3 base game and I play Sims 4 with a fair amount of packs. I want to take a blast in the past though!
I still play the Sims 2. Even without the nostalgia factor, you can't beat that gameplay. When you have all of the expansions and hundreds, if not thousands of mods, you could build and do anything. The fact that I've been playing it for 16 years is a testament to how great it is.
@Slender Man You can also change what is played on both the radio and TV. Paintings too. Great stuff for when you wanna turn the entire game medieval and don't want modern music. 👌🏽
One thing about being homeschooled though.. You don't feel the greatness of being able to stay home when you're sick Lol I'm not trying to be one of those people who edit their comment and scream about their likes, but why did this get so many likes..?
Shae I thinks it’s the opposite. Everything inthe old sims were so surface value un realistic and half of the so called game play of potato looking people was rabbit hole after rabbit hole
Ok Vixella , here's a refresher course. When a customer is in the store, you go up to them and try to sell them the product. That's one of the funnist parts. The better you treat your customers the higher the loyalty. You can build your own store. It's better to have little stores. Put cheap stuff in the middle and expensive stuff on the sides. Hire employees, schedule them, and sell, sell, sell!
Sims 5 should just be sims 2 with Sims 4 graphics Edit: i do realize that adding such in depth gameplay like on the sims 2 with sims 4 graphics and CAS will cause lag. But maybe the graphics could be in between? I dont know, but i dont think its too much to ask for, especially because paralives is coming for the sims 4
@@yarik7877 nah not really. I'll give sims 4 props on CAS. it's amazing but i do think the grahpics should be an in-between sims 3 and 4 graphics. Like a mix of cartoons and realistic. ea has more control and they don't give a f about the franchise anymore. which is probably why they didn't even bother with continuing the story line in the Sims 4
@GoTi4No Having the open world after the endless loading screens of 1 and 2, makes 3 the best sims game ever, imo. The attention to the animation in 2 was amazing, but in my experience you were kind of confined, you had to spend lots of time in the same place, whilst everything went soo smoothly with 3. You could have sim 1 do what you wanted them to do at home whilst letting sim 2 visit the park.

I loved Open for Business! I remember one time I built a vegetarian restaurant that was green themed and had plants everywhere, I loooved it! I need to get Sims 2 working on my PC...
When I create a family who are gonna start a home business, I have their living area locked away from everyone not in the household. I spend a lot of money on items for the business area and get some of those ticket poles. Then, I decorate both areas slowly as I get the money! That's the fun way to play, like a challenge for becoming wealthy!
I grew up with Sims 1, I was 8 when it came out. Somehow even though I obviously also played a lot of Sims 2 back in the day, I just recently started the game again and actually enjoyed the content from open for business. Somehow I've managed to never experience the whole amount of possible gameplay in the Sims 2 and I absolutely fell in love with the owning a business part. It's just amazing and it made me enjoy the grade of detail put in the Sims 2 game in general.
12:12 Pressing the M-or N-key will cause objects to go to the next layout in the same grid :) . At first I thought it would be the M key, but it also works for 3 and 4 and there M-key takes them to the neighborhood view, so it's probably N-key rather than M-key.
The Sims 2 Open for Business offers usable objects from like 5 packs from The Sims 4... Robotics from the University, arranging flowers from Seasons, owning a restaurant from Dine out, obviously toy making and selling stuff from Get to Work, makeovers from Glamour Stuff.. It really feels like The Sims 4 packs aren't that much filled with interesting stuff..

Does anyone have a genuine answer to why the older sims games had more detail?
They put more effort into making them!
ea corrupts and squeezes the life out of their franchises the longer they hold onto them, thus rushed and shallow packs with less content
ea has more control and they don't give a f about the franchise anymore. which is probably why they didn't even bother with continuing the story line in the Sims 4
I think is bc maxis dont work with them anymore
The creator of Sims left the project after Sims 2. Ea has been just rolling with it
Girl you need to get in position to smell the flowers ok,so dont judge the process
Sims 4: Get to Work?? Dine Out??? Who are they??
WE DONT KNOW HER
