No wonder Forest is his best inspiration. His technique is superb and his musicianship, out of this world! Jared, if you ever read this, just know you denifitely became my newest and best inspiration to play bass again. Thank you.
Fuck yeah dude, Forest is my #1 favorite bass player, I took a few bass lessons from him a couple of years ago and my technique improved immensely. But after a while I also found about Jared and Archspire, and Jared quickly became my #2 favorite bass player :D I remember playing a semi hollow Afterburner once at Long & McQuade, it was amazing, though I couldn't justify to spend 7500~ CAD on a bass like that when I'm a pleb that plays at home haha :) I did meet Mr. Dingwall himself at 2015 when my brother and I just came to Canada, he's a super nice, down to Earth guy, and he gave us a small tour of the shop even though we just kinda showed up there unannounced LOL, but it was REALLY awesome. Probably some of the best basses out there for any genre, period.
@@mark6302 Leland can make any bass sing. As far as only for metal, no bass is made strictly for metal. You could play jazz on a BC Rich Warlock if you wanted, you'll just look out of place haha. Wish I could afford a Dingwall. I would have to special order and send them a different pre amp, I'm not a fan of the Darkglass sound and I play death metal.
It is inevitable that Forest would be one of his main influences. He's basically the father of modern Tech Death Bass playing. His work both in Beyond Creation and First Fragment is seminal and deeply influential still to this day. I acknowledge the work made before him both by Jeroen Paul Thesseling (obscura) and Sean Malone which definitely influence bassist to this day but Forest is undoubtedly the most influential figure in the tech Death community.
Awesome video. More Jared. It’s great hearing his perspective.

Awesome vid Bro!
that is some top end shit right there.
I would love for Jared to play in Andrew WK’s band and for all the other members to be Andrew WK look alikes.
Forest the literal GOAT
Why is there none on sale?
What's the third letter of the alphabet? - That'll be the letter C - So CC on the t-shirt gives 33 - O.K.
The audio is lacking in this video. The musical passages are not loud enough
All I will say is that Emerson Lake and Palmer did pretty well for themselves with no guitarist, lead or otherwise.
