As a G&W player I absolutely LOVE how this video is structured. I don't know if there was supposed to be any connective tissue between the tilt section and actual MU advice but putting those two in the same video is so so so smart. The absolute most effective aspect about G&W is how annoying he is, if you can't handle the tilt then the matchup gets 10x harder. So it should naturally be the first thing to discuss. Good job guys!
I’m sure as smash coaches you guys have read Llod’s “golden pathway” essay, but I personally never really understood how to apply it into my learning of the game. But tony’s analysis/explanation of how kola deals with gnw was such a beautiful demonstration of what to do in a specific game state that it feels like I finally understood what it means to “follow the golden pathway”. Thanks guys as always and keep making content! ❤
@@RayZL90By that he means that Sonix is another level and barely makes mistakes for people to capitalize off of. The biggest weakness of Sonic is most of his playerbase not taking advantage of his tools enough
there are plenty of high and top level Sonic players aside from Sonix (Taikei, KEN, Peli, Clement, Sonido, Wrath, etc.). Saying you’re not allowed to lose to players that aren’t the best rep of their character is absurd even at top level.
Btw i just said this bc "how to beat x characters" sounds like a good idea for videos i just like watching and listening to players opinions and advices on matchups, specially when it comes to top tiers like Sonic, GnW, Steve, etc XD
I actually think Min Min is a relatively simple character to beat, but simple does not equal easy. She simplifies the game almost as much as Kazuya, just the other way. You need to close space, the Min Min player is trying to keep that from happening. You have a few movement options to accomplish this, dashing, walking, rolling, and jumping are the standard ones, some characters have extra options available. The game is simply can you keep the Min Min from correctly covering your way in, which will usually have to pull from most if not all of our movement options. Once you get in, your punish game needs to be on lock to take full advantage of Min Mins subpar disadvantage. If you're not getting lots of percent off of winning neutral against Min Min, you need to work on your punish game in general.
Game and watch is honestly super overrated and is just a matchup check. If you play a good enough character, he should completely fold. His approach and burst range are awful (low jump height, lack of burst options, bad ground speed, no forward facing hitbox in the air), he struggles to kill if you don't land into his smash attacks, and his lack of range is exploitable. If you commit to circle camping or spacing him out, there's very little he can do.
This is a take of all time. All those top players who think he’s the second best character in the game must be really dumb. (Also lmao approach options awful? Safe, lingering combo aerials that last his whole short hop are pretty solid)

If you are someone that deals with anxiety- Take what bam said at 4:50 and apply it to life.
Pls make a "how to beat sonic" next
Unless it’s sonix you shouldn’t be losing. Keep labbing or try another character. Who do you play
@@miguelc2164what does this mean lol? Sonix isn’t the only Sonic player that exists

This channel is so valuable as a beginner. Taken alot of notes since finding the channel while searching for help with my Mega Man.
Fun fact the game code lists the different foods GnW chef throws as: sausage, steak, fried prawns, and fish.
Bam is back!
You guys should have a guest episode soon. You’ve had Gluto and ESAM or Shinymark I think before? Those episodes are always very cool.
Get light on this bih to tell us how to beat gnw
30:16 funny enough, Fox dair beats out gnw uair consistently lol
Incredible thumbnail

That thumbnail 😂
Surprised gnw is the character you guys decided to go through, but cool nonetheless 👍

Circle camping the best up air in the game is a wild suggestion
Okay Mr top player
Have you fought a good GnW?
