Great review - nice to see the jacket in motion. Thanks for posting this and the Cerium LT review - I've actually been weighing between the two, and your two reviews helped me quite a bit!
Hi! How is your experience, in which temperature range does it work for you? Do you use it alone or with a shell? I have an Alpha AR shell and an Atom LT, which is great for cycling down to -25°C, but for being less active I need something warmer. So I am wondering if I need the Thorium SV or if the AR is fine (and still looking at other options...).
I use the Thorium SV for the coldest days here in Minnesota, which can get below 0F. I do have a Gortex shell that I will use if it's snowing a lot. I use the cerium lt for most of the winter since it's not as bulky, and can usually keep me warm with normal amounts of activity. Overall, I really like this jacket and it's a great winter jacket.
Thanks, sounds great! Since I am need something for these extra cold days (Montréal here), it seems to be a good choice. Since it is often windy here, the shell is nearly always necessary...
Nice review! I just bought this jacket in the same color and I'm liking it so far. How is the durability and everything? The face fabric of these down jackets is much softer than the burly hardshell jackets I'm used too, so I worry about getting a rip or tear.
+Deasert Fox So far it has been holding up. I do agree that it does seem less burly. I've run up against some rocky/rough surfaces with this jacket, and so far I haven't had any problems.

What size is the jacket?
It is a medium
what color is this jacket in?
I think it was a line or cilantro green. It's not a subtle color, it's quite bright
