I agree but the politics in AoT were great since the Uprising Arc. What made Marley arc really special is the introduction of a completely different story and narrative told from the warriors perspective, the moral ambiguity of the characters actions on the both sides and psychological complexity of the characters such as Eren and Reiner- especially Reiner's backstory and his interactions with Eren. By the way if you like politics, philosophy of politics and political dialogue I seriously recommend you Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Good stuff. Just one thing that I hear misquoted, which Mikasa gets correct, is that the full quote, and the one that I believe is the full intention that many of the characters forget, is that “This world is cruel. But it is also beautiful.” Just my two cents, but I think that is the full message of a theme of the story which confuses a majority of the characters because they only focus on the cruelty and cannot open themselves up to see the beauty that is also present.
I love this arc no shame.
Marley arc increased the quality of AoT for me. Great politics and political dialogues is the reason why I love one piece, GoT (1-4) so much

Marley arc ruined the story, not because of premise but because of its execution.
