Dispatchers need to be trained to say "I have dispatched officers to your location. Now I need to ask some questions"... These people calling for help and are terrified and in danger. So reassure them that help IS coming and then ask the necessary questions "does he have a weapon, etc etc".

I know this is a bit random... But once, my friend's dad was like ,"in ___( insert upper area) , the cops have a machine where they can just "tag" a plate from a distance, & pull up your driving record. I'm not sure if this area has it. Or has jumped on that yet..." Something like that. I was thinking ,"🤔 is this not an old school thing?... And cops everywhere have it? Is this his attempt at acting uppity? Bc it's not like he lives there. I'm not sure if he's playing dumb, is that dumb, or thinks I'm that dumb... I was just like (out of pure assumption bc I honestly don't even know)," I imagine once a co gets ahold of a certain technological tool, they mass produce it. They prob sell it higher than what it's worth. But way less to make. So in that case, I don't doubt they'd have it in all areas. Prob since forever ago. 😑"
:/ I still honestly don't know tho. But here's my google search on it: 🤔 www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/state-statutes-regulating-the-use-of-automated-license-plate-readers-alpr-or-alpr-data.aspx. 🤔 close enough... So, they had a different call earlier about the dogs, which dispatch actually says "we got a call ealrier about a found dog from this address" knowing/confirming if that is true/correct would help them begin to establish a timeline. Also, though, he was failing at sounding concerned and/or panicked, the additional questions and topics helped keep him talking. I would guess that he set the dogs loose so they wouldn't attack him while he killed her.

Abuse teaches abuse! Fighting, yelling, telling a child they are no good also teaches kids just that! We make sure to tell our boys we love them every day! Being a parent is not easy, life is not always easy. Your children need to be taught through example, the skills to cope and guide them through when they struggle. When you have kids, you no longer come first! Full proof? No, that's also life, nothing is but you do the best you can and make sure they understand you, as a parent are not perfect and you will make mistakes!

It’s frustrating when the dispatchers have to ask so many questions, but there are actually two people at the call desk, one is asking questions from the caller and the other is dispatching help. ash thebug: I know......When he kept repeating "and he killed our DOG, too!".....then came this "We still have 3 dogs though". God, I was wanting to get in my car & go help him......What a super kid, not falling to pieces. He DID admit that he was too scared to call last night, so he had all night to pull himself together. But he had 2 younger kids to have to console, as well. I hope he gets a good shrink to help him get back on track somehow......Now, with no Mom and no Dad (Dad got life in prison for killing Mom - this 9 yr old kid was the only eye-witness that took the stand & described the intruder/murderer perfectly).

But on the other hand, it's too easy to make up and impossible to prove. I know it seems unnecessary and a pain at times but they still have a job to do and they are still human at the end of the day, the things they must hear on the end of the line must be extremely hard at times and they have to go home and deal with that at the end of each shift. I do however wonder what goes through the minds of murderers

You've probably been written off as dead by the dispatcher and there won't be any attempt to save you whatsoever. Just an effort to make sure whoever did this to you is gone so they won't pose a threat to the guys that put you in the bag. America! lol
