At the beginning, what are the 2 long flat ships that are being pushed by the "Veerhaven"? And why is the Veerhaven pumping out so much black smoke? The Cosco France is HUGE! Ok, another dumb question: do the ship employees, since they're on those ships for months on end, have like movie rooms, things like that to break up the monotony? Last one (this time): that really long flat ship, the Fidelity, what is it for? It's very odd looking.
The 2 long flat ships are so called barges and are for coal or iron ore for Germany. I guess something went wrong in the engine room and for a few seconds black smoke came from the funnel. The Fidelity is an inland tanker for diesel or gas.
+M. Rodriguez -- The COSCO France is indeed huge, but the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller is even more so. The France is 366 metres long, while the McKinney Moller is 400 metres long. France's gross tonnage is 157,000 tons, but Mc-Kinney Moller's is 174,500 tons. Here's a list you may find interesting: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_container_ships
+SeikiBrian Thank you for the info. Yes, I find it very interesting. There'll never be such giants in this city's small port (comparatively speaking) so I enjoy learning about and seeing them online. :)
Indrukwekkende schepen. Op 8.05 zie je links in beeld ook een zeehond uit het water springen. Mooie video!!

Thank you, Fred. I enjoy these videos but I always have tons of questions! :-) Hard to find answers just by Googling.
