It’s truly sad seeing the children still being good children. Freddy’s nervous that he’ll be scolded, and Foxy asking for the toy instead of just taking it. They still look up to adults, (the same kind of adults that hurt them so horrendously) seeking guidance and acknowledgment, despite everything. It’d be easier, if all that was left of them was a vengeful monster. If they could just be angry and uninhibited, instead of innocent and hurt.

The movie did such a good job of showing us just this. They’re just kids. The fort building scene was goofy, and a lot of people thought it was weird, but I loved it because it really solidified one thing: they’re only children

I was really young when i discovered the fnaf franchise, and the animatronics were scaring me. To reassure myself, i remember thinking of them as sad and love-craving creatures... I didn't know how right i was at the time

Ye I guess, but also think about how they’re trying to get revenge on the purple guy and they mistook Michael for William
It makes you realize how bad it was, waking up with your soul and body rotted and changed into a form less than half as functional, and as a kid nonetheless... They truly were just kids...
And their last memories were being killed by their favorite, beloved character, since William had the Golden Bonnie suit on. And at a place they previously associated with nothing but joy and comfort. The betrayal and confusion that must have come with that.... it'd be like if a kid was killed by someone in a mickey mouse costume at Disneyworld.
