Did you know that it's the only one of its kind on the entire continent?
It is an architectural work of great value but its creator, Dionisio Aizcorbe, never thought of turning it into a tourist attraction, he simply modeled his house, his home, his place in the world.
Dionisio was originally from Santa Fe, he came through these places and fell in love with a small town called: Santa Vera Cruz and located in the extreme north of the Castro Barros Department.
At the age of 53 he began to build his house and was modeling figures that in the 80's no one in the place understood and they came to think that he was a sorcerer, that he was a little crazy, that he had dealings with the devil, all of which was also fueled by the fact that Dionisio worked alone and generally until late at night to make the most of the available minutes of the day.
Until 2024, El Castillo de Dionisio is the main tourist attraction on the Rioja coast, tourists come from all over the country and from other countries to learn about this unique work and legacy left by "The Man with the White Beard".
