The little puppy's design is just speculative genius, I think. We know because of Rad and Stripe that the show will give dogs features that neither of their parents have, such as Rad's coat coloring and Stripe's bent ear. Mort and Rad are both kind of fluffy too, so even the kid's fluffiness doesn't immediately confirm they're a mixed breed.
The bent ear, the fluffy coat, and the purple and black coring are just the perfect mix of features to ensure that we have no idea who the kid's dad could be.

I think this was one of the best episodes, it was my favourite when it came out. I think it’s a perfect mix between the simple playful episode and the more emotional episodes. 10/10!

I was so happy to see how they perceived the future, with the drones and new towers on the skyline. I also loved th me aging house, the wallpaper coming down, and chili with glasses. Bandit finally with his mullet! 😂🤣

The fact that neither Chili nor Bandit asked about the pup when Bluey arrived makes me think he/she is Bingo’s pup.
She also says "I thought I'd pop by" rather than "I thought we'd pop by".
Well… Bluey could have told her pup that we’re gonna suprise Bandit.
So there’s that.
I think it leaves it open for it to be Bingo's kid, I noticed the same thing, but I personally think it's more likely that the animators were cheating just a bit to try to surprise us the audience with reveal. This is the right kind of mystery box, as it doesn't tie them down but isn't lazily open-ended like the ones in Force Awakens: "I've got Luke's lightsaber, but well explain how I got it never," "What's Rei's parentage? Nobody and everybody all at once," "Who's Snope? We don't know so let's kill him off now, no wait, um...a clone of Palpatine." There is one other *remote* possibility that I just now thought of--the kid could be a late child of Chili and Bandit themselves. It's the least likely, of course--I assume once Chili and Bandit chose to end their attempts to have another child at the beginning of season three (when they removed the nursery furniture) that one or both of them were "fixed," to use the dog terminology (since I can't remember the name for the female equivalent of a vasectomy off the top of my head and I don't want to search for it on my browser because I'm still getting ads for Fluance turntables and Klipsch speakers years after I bought them and I don't want or need a bunch of birth control ads playing every time I watch youtube), but my former pastor and his wife had another child after their two sons were in college, when the wife was in her mid to late 40s.
Bingo’s future husband is most likely Chucky, Lucky’s Brother, which means if Lucky married Bluey, and Chucky married Bingo, they would all be one biological family
@@kevintrjohnson I like that idea of perhaps the pup is young sibling to Bluey & Bingo. Surprisingly it never occurred to me even though my own siblings were very much older than me (like 15-18 years older).
I think that the scenes of Bandit answering the door with a child hiding (either Bluey or her pup in the future flash forward at the end) are a nice nod and callback all the way back to the very beginning of the series, if you think about it. We had something similar with the 2017 pilot (which was later edited and improved to become the episode The Weekend) in the game of Magical Statue when Bluey and Bingo were ringing the doorbell and then hiding from Bandit.
Bluey’s pup was definitely like her mom when she was a puppy!
at 5:53, above chili, there seems to be a narrow frame with two grayed out pictures and an orange cross medal/award in the between, i wonder what the meaning of that is.
edit: it seems to be a military award, the Victoria cross for valor. so either A. it belonged to mort and by then passed away, the medal being given to chili, or B. someone ese in the family joined up in the military and was awarded the medal.
It's likely Mort while the other picture would be of Chili's mother. I've seen pictures like this before and they will have the medal in the middle so it's a nice tribute and another indication that time has passed, though it's a sad reminder.
As a childfree aunt who love watching bluey with my niblings, I was delighted with Chillie's response to Bluey about if she will have kids. BIG CHILLIE WIN!!! Learn from her people!!!
A fun theory my mom came up with concerning the ending is the pup may not be Bluey or Bingo’s kid at all, but possibly their SIBLING! A surprise baby if you will
it’s sad that season 3 is over and we might not get new bluey content for a while. it’s also weird how we got a 28 min ep then a simple 7 min one to end the season
Yeah initially The Sign was meant to be the finale but because it had the flash forward scene showing they never sold the house they moved it to the finale

One detail I think everyone missed. Notice how they hint at Bandit having hearing issues. You know who else had hearing issues? Nana! So maybe Bandit inherited Chris Heeler’s hearing loss

I’m pretty sure the blue/purple bin at the end is another recycling bin but for glass. We have them here in metro Victoria and they’re putting them out everywhere here over the next few years, so I can only assume they’d end up in the rest of the states too, which I think is why they put it in the flash forward scene
5:41 regarding “spitting out random words from random things they heard in their life,” when I was five, the teacher asked the class what we all wanted to be when we grew up. You got the typical 5yo answers. …I however apparently told the teacher that I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. It was such an odd thing for a 5yo girl to say that the teacher actually told my mom. I honestly have no memory of ever saying this, but as an adult, I later realized the time period from when this was said. It was 1987, the school had just opened, being named after someone famous who died in 1986, but I had no clue about. In 1986, the space shuttle Challenger blew up, and it was a HUGE deal in the US. The school was named after one of the astronauts, a commander, I believe, not an “aeronautical engineer.” But, given the time period, I’m sure that there was still on going investigations, so it was probably something random I heard on the news in 1987 discussing this event, or something weird on PBS.

Off the wall theory time: It's not Bluey's kid - it's not Bingo's kid - it's Bandit & Chilis 4th child who may or may not be adopted.
In the episode we are show Bandit forced care for 4 children by Bingo. If we count "Mercury" then that's Mercury, Bluey, Bingo and "Finnucan?" in the heeler family mirroeing Bingos paly Finnucan may have some physical or mental conditions.
Waht we are shown at the end is a young puppy that has similarities to the other Heelers with some differences and who engages in the same play style as the other Heelers. It's never really made clear whose child it is but we are given some clues which dont particularly help
1) Nobody seems suprised when Bluey doesn't enter with her child perhaps indicating that as much as people want this to be Bluey's it may not be.
2) Bingo is already there "out back" indicating it could be her child playing in the yard.
3) The child plays like Bluey did and looks a bit like her and or Bandit
4) the design is unclear as to who the parents are.
It's fun to speculate but lets face it we dont known and probably wont for a while. It was a truly great fun moment though.
But then again it barely looks like them. Yes puppies usually change fur colors when they grow but. It doesn't really have both of the parents patters or characteristics

My point was purely is that within the context of the episode there could be foreshadowing it's Bandit & Chili's 4th child. Personally I am happy for anyone to specualte anything because thats fun - as long as they dont get all angry at people who have a different idea about it or at the creators when the actual truth is revealed because it's likely lots of us are wrong. I just threw up the fact their is a possibility it's Bandit & Chilis child.

I really didn't get the impression that the kid at the end was Bluey's. You would think her parents would have asked where her child was since it was a surprise visit. Or, if they were babysitting, Bluey would have asked where the kid was (but it also seems weird for Bluey's kid to be there and Bandit and Chilli not know that Bluey was stopping by).
We know that Bingo was already there, so it would make more sense to me that the kid might be Bingo's child, even though he/she was more of a blue color scheme (which I suppose if you get into genetics, there are blue fur genetics in Bingo's family and we don't know what the dad looks like). Or even a visiting niece/nephew (so Muffin or Sock's kid).
I could be way off base, but my initial impression based on the brief character interactions was that the kid wasn't Bluey's. Maybe we'll see in a later episode. Love how fun and wholesome this show is. They certainly know how to get their adult viewers talking! lol
I think you're reading too far into it. As a story boarding style choice, it makes perfect sense for the kid to be Bluey's. She's growing up as seen in The Sign, able to ride in the front seat, be a part of adult conversations, explain things and help Bingo come to terms with moving, etc. In Surprise, she isn't playing one of the normal games that she and Bingo would normally play, but wants to play by herself. Playing babies just isn't what she's interested in. She asks Chili what it's like to have a child. Going by when her last birthday was and if the passage is time is similar, Bluey is almost 8.
She's paralleled with the child shooting the same type of gun as her. Bandit and Chili don't say anything because they are in on the game. Bandit would always go in hard with the girls on their games, so it makes sense that he would with a grandchild as well. It's not that they didn't know the kid was there or that they didn't ask Bluey where her kid was. That would take the Surprise meaning out of the name of the episode and the surprise that yes, Bluey does have a child. I also don't think there's enough orange in the kid to be Bingos. You'd have at least a little orange mixing or maybe even some of her spots. There's none of that. It's definitely Bluey's kid because of the flow of the story and the colors of the kid.
This episode was the so good! I loved it. I wish they made it longer tho!😭

What I found the most surprising was the flash forward to a nightmarish future. At the end we are confronted with the horror of some sort of Cyborg creature patched together Frankenstein style carrying a deadly weapon - the look of horror on Bandit's face when confronted by the prospect of a well I am calling it a Muffinator is truly chilling.
I assume next season we will see desperate attempts to prevent this nightmarish future coming to pass. I hope Bluey and her family and friends can prevent the ascent of the evil Mufin Dictatorship and her evil Cyborg army.

People are speculating wildly and I thought it was fun to take that in a wildly silly direction to point out theres no need to take a happy little flash forward so seriously. Whatever the puppies parentage is we'll see and I am sure it will be a fun reveal when it comes - it's very unlikely said reveal will be a Nightmarish Cyborg Killing machine sent by future Muffin hell bent on world domination.

Did anyone notice that the tv was talking about what was happening like when bandit was getting shot while trying to get the stubby cooler and the tv was saying “his competitor is on him I don’t know how he will get out of this. There is more examples but I thought it was cool
You included an image of Uncle Stripe with the unknown kid, telling the kid to just stand there for ten seconds......what is that from? There is a family resemblance between Stripe and the kid by the way,
One other thing: I noted that both Bandit and Chili greeted Bluey at the front door, but Bingo stayed behind out in the back. Why didn't SHE also come out front to greet Bluey, and bring her kid if she has one? Could she be in a wheelchair or a cot (on account of some illness or injury)? I know this is a bleak thought, but a possibility that occurred to me.
I've noticed that all the 150 or so of the episodes have basically been telling a continuing, progressing pre-planned story, like if "Gone With The Wind" was divided up into seven-minute long segments. And Bluey is truly our Scarlett O'Hara, with all the same virtues and flaws! I hope some future canine Sherman does not march through Brisbane!

Not a big Twilight fan, but my sisters were (I had to escort them to see New Moon in theaters, and I laughed so hard at the Neverending Story werewolves (seriously, how did they look worse than a badly lip-synched puppet?) that the girls behind me threw popcorn at my head), so I remember the Edward/Jacob Wars. this comment was going to be on one of ur other videos but the little dog we see at the end of the episode surprise may in fact be bluey's kid online it said it is but Google could be wrong idk
I definitely wondered about the kid, with the way Chili doesn't ask about him/her/they, but I think the animators were more interesting in surprising us, the audience, and cheated just a bit (it's possible that the child was initially standing there behind Bluey (it's oddly angled and framed when you think about it, as it doesn't show all of Bluey and you can't see what's behind her) and by the time the "camera" pulls back to wide, the child could have indicated that they're going to hide for grandpa and does so before the cut). It does leave it open the slight possibility of it being Bingo's kid, but I think most of the evidence points towards Bluey--the theme of the episode was about whether Bluey would want kids, and the kid seems to take after her--kind of that whole "rhyming" thing that George Lucas went on about when making the prequel trilogy.

I still think Bluey is the parent of the little heeler. Pre-pregnancy Brandy didn’t have grey hairs, despite being older than Chilli. I feel like Ludo Studios adds them in as a sort of shorthand for ‘definitely dealing with kids’

If they show an older Chilli again, I really don't want her wearing glasses. I understand that artists and writers were aging her up a little bit but knowing Chilli I think she takes care of herself really well to not have them. Especially because of her work in the Airport.

Ohmygod I'm sorry to comment AGAIN. But that very last part. It solidifies my theory that we are already timeline jumping and just don't know it. Well kinda. The 30yo bluey feels more like ~2024 present day. Say bluey was born in 2002. She would be 7 years old playing with her mom's smartphone or pretending. Its more believable that the grandparents don't understand the technology. She would be 22 now. So it could be like 2030. The not so distant future.

I want to talk about some things from this episode. First off, I'm still confused about that sport Bandit was watching. Is it like some kind of sport for disabled people? They're on these wheelchair like things and don't seem to have legs. I've never really heard of a sport for disabled people so that's cool. I thought you'd explain it more but you didn't really talk about it too much so I still don't understand it. Second, I don't really think Bandit has a mullet. It just looks like his hair got shaggier, that's all. He just has a little bit of fur sticking out the side of his head but it doesn't exactly look like a mullet, at least not to me. I also don't think Bluey has a mullet, it just looks like her fur is longer as if she has long hair now. Third, I don't think the child is Bingo's or it's their sibling. I think it was super obvious that the child is Bluey's when they were revealed. The legit start of the episode was Bluey asking if she would have kids. I mean the child does look like they're related to Bluey. Even tho Bluey didn't exactly mention having a child at the end it was obviously supposed to be a surprise as the title of the episode suggests. I don't think it could be their sibling since they look very young while Bluey and Bingo are much older now, it seems weird for them to have a young sibling when they're in their 20s or 30s. I mean maybe it's possible but it doesn't make too much sense to me. You guys really don't need to make things complicated... it's Bluey's child that's it. I do hope that we can see them again or I really hope Ludo studios can confirm things for us but I doubt it's gonna happen
I was kinda surprised that they allowed Bluey to have a toy gun. I know in Britain, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles weren't allowed to be called Ninja or have nunchucks because those things are "too violent". I get that Australia is a different country, but I thought they were on the same page when it came to stuff like that.
