The criticism and reservations are completely valid I think I'll miss having to "work" for the clothes in game especially when you can just "like" it. Running the shop racking up money going to buy stock was my favorite part and the vastly different brands. Hell I think that's why I love shopping so much now! I adored the AZ-USA brand too it just screamed cool older cousin to me. I'm still buying the game I think the nostalgia will win me over every time and I also wonder how the soundtrack of this game will sound. (i'll miss the vastly different clothing brands though) The game is called Style Savvy in the US and it's soundtrack is one the same level as Little Big Planet for me which is also amazing so I'm excited to see what they've done. I kinda hate the social media aspect of it because I'm sick of social media irl as well but knowing it's not 100% mandatory to play multi-player makes me very happy. Great video!

haha agreed on the social media part - thanks for watching!
About the music, though… I’m a little iffy on it right now. Personally, it doesn’t destroy my ears like styling star did on occasion, BUTT it’s still a little basic from what I’ve heard (not that I’ve heard beyond 3 songs haha)
But, still praying the game proves me wrong in that aspect!

I can't wait for this game to come out! I didn't know the pre-order was up. I'll be pre-ordering immediately. Personally I don't really mind much that they are taking a new angle, I see why people wouldn't like the influencer gimmick or the fact that you are no longer running a shop but I'll take any robust character creator. I feel like as long as I have plenty of customization options I'd personally be happy. Hopefully this game does well so we can get another actual Style Savvy game in the future. This series holds so much power over me, I've played Style Savvy more on my 3ds this past summer than I've played on my switch and before that I haven't touched my 3ds in years.

I'm so excited for the game i def preordered it just like another commenter said :3c
I agree though about the "plot", i hope there's something a little stronger than just heehee influencer but we'll have to see? Either way I'm so pumped about having 4 different muses, that means four new OCs to make!!! Games like Fashion Dreamer and Style Savvy are really filling up my heart bc I've loved dress up games since I was young, so they're scratching certain brain cells So Nicely.
I also didn't realize there was bonus DLC for the preorder?? I guess I missed that LOL but I'm sooo excited about it.

I’m so excited for this game and have been for months, like I literally cannot wait for this game to come out, but I def am a little worried about what there is to the game, gameplay wise if that makes sense. But the simple fact that I can create 4 different characters and dress them up is plenty enough for me. I will take what I can get and I’m praying this game is a success. One thing the switch has been missing for forever is games within the fashion genre and I feel that is why I don’t reach for my switch as much as I would like to, but when FD comes out, my switch will not be coming out of my hands !!

I’m excited and will be preordering but i can’t help but feel a bit underwhelmed. like does it look AMAZING? yes! and i concerned on how expansive the gameplay will be? yes.
One thing i liked about the style savvy games was how you had to match pre existing clothes together, set pieces and YOU need to make a cohesive outfit with them
I just don’t know how good the game will be with these customizable clothes. i’m also not a fan of how set styles are seemingly done away with? (at least from what i can tell)
I’m also not a fan of how basic or very very unique the clothes look. And with only 1200~ like idk? i wish there was more.
also i’m sure there’s going to be dlc like 100% and i’m expecting it to be good
i will say i’m very excited to explore the cocoons, the play one looks like it’s going to be my fav.

You being up a good point about pre-existing clothes! I think clothing might still have SOME sort of style, as some wishlist requests from Muses do include stuff like ‘looks casual’ etc, but I doubt the return of brands :(
Style savvy was smart with its clothes because it was quality over quantity - that said they still included a whole bunch of clothes, but they covered all styles and were almost all unique AND matched a style. With Fashion Dreamer, it seems like it’s more… ‘haha look you like clothes? have a million of them. they all kinda look the same but look haha clothes good’
Buttt still, lovin the effort put into the cocoons. Maybe Syn Sophia will find their feet again if we support fashion dreamer :”)

I never thought of that. But we haven’t used a PC in our home or for business since 2009. My brother has a couple of Macs, but he’s a musician, and they are superior for that application. I can’t imagine having to deal with viruses and RAM problems and all sorts of issues that just don’t happen to us with any of our devices.

    • @anjaleax
      @anjaleax 11 месяцев назад

@@ditzygypsyI mean PCs have come a long way since 2009.
Windows 11 is a great OS, and is very versatile. As for viruses, there are anti viruses just for that! And plus the one I would recommend is Malwarebytes, as someone who used it daily and would scan, it took all my viruses away.
RAM problems are simple, just buy more GB's of Ram. These days RAM is now at least higher than 16 gigs. And tbh Ram isn't the least of a PCs problem.
If you did want to invest in a Windows PC that is powerful enough for daily use as well as gaming, I suggest investing on a custom made PC, as you, the user, can choose the parts you want, and it's a lot cheaper than to buy a prebuilt which could lead the problems in the future.
If you want a prebuilt, I suggest companies such as ASUS, Alienware, Razer, and Nvidia.
If a PC isn't really your thing, you could get a Steam Deck. That can play every PC game you can think of with a bit of tinkering in the settings and apps of course.

Admittedly, despite how much I was planning to share and talk about the game on Reddit and whatnot. I didn’t necessarily want the pressure of trying to scrape up likes in game form. And I actually don’t always love being social in games. I bypassed a lot of mmo’s that had any requirements for you to have to be on a team to do anything because it made me anxious. I played Splatoon because “Ooh, colors and fun squid style” (lol, give me a Splatoon fashion/life sim spin off and I swear I’ll buy it 😂) but those battles had me sweating and the anxiety of being the weak link on my team was too much. I think I was really hoping for a bigger Style Savvy. I was imagining scaling up to traveling the world. Visiting places to find different styles to buy and bring home to sell in your own boutique. Maybe even adding in managing an online shop in addition to selling items and outfits in store. I think there was still a lot of potential in the shop management format.
I also feel weird about not having to actually purchase clothing. I realize they want to focus more on the design aspect which seems to be the driving force in player retention. You’re not having to earn money to buy what you want. You’re earning chances to customize what you want. If you see it you can have it but if you want to really make it your own, you’ll need a pattern. And you’ll want to make your own unique designs so people will notice and like them. I’m definitely excited to play it. I love fashion and I want more non-gatcha based fashion games on console. I’m really getting so sick of these money draining mobile fashion games that thrive on inflicting fomo on players to get them to gamble hundreds of real dollars on a single virtual outfit. I just also still want Style Savvy.
I love farming games but they’re not the only form a cozy game can take. 😅 (Or a dating sim for that matter. How did those genres get linked like that?) Nature is nice and all but I like the city too. I’m a bit tired of farm fashion. No more overalls please. I realize I can’t wear heels to water my tomatoes.
Ah, I’ve said a lot. It’s a weird feeling because I literally cannot wait to play this game but also I am nervous it won’t be as good as the Style Savvy games but also I’m so sure I will love it but also I wish it were different. I want it to do really well but also I don’t want another one of it in place of a new Styke Savvy if it does. Does that even make any sense? 😂

Great video! Your editing is really funny. I totally understand your concerns about the game - But here's the way I see it. We already got four Style Savvy games that all have the same gameplay loop. I personally think it's nice that they're trying something new instead of just making another Style Savvy-like game on the Switch. I really like Fashion Dreamer's concept of being able to express yourself with fashion. And being able to design your own clothes and show it off and share it with others sounds super addicting and fun for me. I completely understand that the influencer thing isn't for everyone, but I think if done properly it could end up being a very fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
And who knows? Maybe later down the line they'll release an update that'll let you run your own boutique Style Savvy style. We can hope at least 🤞

Late with this (as the update video for Steampunk clothing in FD reminded me of the game), but RIP Fashion Dreamer. FD actually got me into Style Savvy, so I was a bit optimistic going into it. I had initially scoffed at the reveal trailer for FD, but did a double take as I was reminded of the previous "Farming" Direct and thought, "Well, its not like you *couldn't* make an actually good Fashion game, if you were inclined to"... That sent me down the rabbit hole and I decided to try Styling Star, which was easily one of my favourite games I played last year, second only to Prime 2 Echoes. Seeing as FD was the reason I got into it, I thought it was only fair to try it out as well. While I know FD isn't Style Savvy, it had enough problems of its own in accordance with what it was trying to be.
One of the "bigger" problems I had with Styling Star (probably an issue with the rest of the series, but I've yet to play them all) was the Menus/UI. Specifically, when a customer asked for a certain type of item, I had to scroll down through the sorting menus for an option at the bottom. I found myself thinking it would be a bit quicker/easier if the game showed a grid with smaller icons for each option for just tap on, or something. This might seem like a small problem (and it sort of is), but this kind of thing adds up over the course of a game, especially with how simple/easy the game becomes with customer requests later in the game when you have a lot more to choose from. Its just slightly cumbersome enough to wear on me in conjunction with the easier requests. (Its worth noting that "Menu-ing" is something you have to deal with a lot if you like turn-based rpgs, so this is a bigger/more noticeable problem for me)
And that was on 3DS... So with 2 screens, one of them being a touchscreen. FD being a Switch game means it at most has one touchscreen in Handheld mode. But due to the option for TV play, they would still have to design the UI around controller. With FD's shift in focus from a business management game, to a more creative/customization-focused game, the game has a bunch more options to customize with and by extension more menus. It doesn't help that FD doesn't do the *best* job getting you invested in the gameplay (unlike SS, with a clearer goal and gameplay loop).
From what I recall, even if you use the Switch in Handheld mode, you cant use the touchscreen for menus or selecting things (though maybe I just didn't find the settings for it or skipped something, idk). There are a lot of nice ideas that I'd like to see incorporated into Style Savvy, if we get a new one. I'd like the idea of making the creation aspect into a post-game transition from running a store to focusing on your own brand. I feel like there are a few different ways it could be incorporated. But I don't think FD handles itself well enough on its own. It also has a lot of the modern "live-service model" problems plaguing it.
So, yea, bounced off the game hard, couldn't get into it. I might try to give it another go later down the line, when it has more content. Hopefully the Steampunk clothes with always be available in some way (not just an event), as I liked the look of them. Also, hopefully the game gets a PC/Steam port down the line, as I think it would be a better fit for PC.

I'm gonna miss being able to just have the different brands, and one can hope that an update my help give those materials some texture (as a fashion student, I know that every fabric looks different from working with it for years). Alas, I imagine players will try their best to recreate their favourite items from their favourite brands in game and irl with the new design feature. Hell, I wanted to try and use it in Fashion Forward to try and make the original DS collaboration items, which never happened so I may finally achieve that in Fashion Dreamer, who knows...
Besides, I've been too hooked on DBD and Sims to even touch my 3DS or anything else. Idk if it needs charging or not since I last used it, lmao

I totally agree with you. I loved the style boutique gameplay and I loved that designing clothes matter because you would get attached to NPCs following their stories, dress them accordingly on top of having to manage your own shop, the game was a lot of fun. Im afraid this game might feel soul less, I have no interest for designing clothes just for the sake of designing clothes, there need to be a deeper game mechanic involved and I hope this game will provide that otherwise I know ill get bored of it quickly. I have to add that Fashion Dreamer looks absolutely beautiful, the music is catchy, the characters animations are amazing, I love all how the clothes different styles shapes and endless creative possibilities. I really hope I wont be disappointed, I really cant wait to try this game out !

Fashion Dreamer is just too 2024 to me and I hate the 2020s, it almost breaks my nostalgia for NSB. Also, the general game mechanics just don't seem convincing to me at all, like, why is there gacha in it😭 I think this game is a try from syn sophia to reinvent NSB to remarket it to the newer generations rather than appeal to the few NSB fans that still exist to this day, which to me is a miss, that's why there's so many weird game mechanics. The thing is, the game isn't for us, and that's why we're not exactly thrilled, that's my theory at least.

ey fam, i just found this vid, I didnt know NSB was digital only in the US, makes sense considering the low volume it would sell physically, as pretty much anyone british or schizophrenic would rather play "fashion game" than the latest CoD or something heh, knowing the states this is more lewd than most game releases because US has something against seeing "Digital skin" and has the will to censor it.
I got a feeling that SynSophia does want to make more of these games, but realistically knows they need to be avalible on a different system, Marvelous does quite like supporting PC games, so i do feel, fashion dreamer could come to PC.... more importantly, be a steam deck banger, as it would be the only fashion game on PC.... that isnt made by illusion anyway HA.
Pretty much feel teh same way overall, its going to be interesting, either way, hopefully i can have my h0t b0i avatar giving the girls fashion advice to not be e-girls and instead look like the next barbor country dog walker or coffee shop addict, idk man we will see.
Sux that you are gonna have to wait for crimbo if thats the case, games like this are once in a blue moon, would get you a copy but thats just the creep from the internet in me

Lots of great points! You articulated that apprehension about the new mechanics really well. It's just not super clear how they mesh together yet.
I remember first playing Style Savvy (US) and expecting basically what we see here for FD. The boutique element was a pleasant surprise back then, I wasn't anticipating so much story.
Also agree on the body types. They've come pretty far with skin tones and hair especially- I notice a lot of games that gradually introduce new skin colors give them a very "gray" undertone and FD doesn't do that- but the lack of AT LEAST plus sized models in such a sprawling fashion game is difficult to understand.

@heyomayo or anyone who sees this comment, I have a question for you. Why do you think or what’s your theory Nintendo refused to work with SynSophia to make a Style Boutique game for the Nintendo Switch? They have done it for so many years so it makes me wonder why. I really don’t have a theory or a answer for this question, but I think that if Nintendo wanted to work with them again, we would’ve had a Style Boutique game a long time ago for the Nintendo Switch. Maybe even before quarantine we would’ve got the game.
That being said, I am a boy and I have loved the series since I was little. I love fashion games, but not all of them are as the quality that SynSophia makes them. I am VERY happy that you can play as a guy because for the Style Boutique games on the 3DS, I had to play as my Mom. 😂 Either way, I am very excited for this game and preordered it on GameStop. Speaking of preorder, do any of you guys know that DLC exclusive for GameStop for this game or is it just certain retailers?
I hope you guys have an amazing day! 🖤🩷🇵🇷

@@heyomayoo Thank you for responding. Your theory does make sense because I feel the Fashion Forward was the best looking and quality wise and Styling Star didn’t really improve on that or reused the same design. I’m not saying that it’s bad, but could’ve been improved.
