Didn't see anyone jump from this angle, but saw someone jump from a lower rock on 6-15-19 into that same pool below the falls after they did some serious scaling of the rocks to get there for one jump. Interesting how these guys got where they were to jump, not the easiest spot to get too.
You can climb right up from under where they are if you're good. I have a wood burl I got from under the falls, that had been back tumbling and polishing there for lord knows how long.
A woman fell through all 3 tiers of Linville Falls back in the 1800s and died. The man trying to save her was injured but survived. In the 2010s, a professional kayaker made it through all 3 tiers as well. He said it was difficult at first, but he made it.
One could argue that courage has increased the fitness of our ancestors at times. Courage combined with logic (ie. knowing the water depth) may be more adventagous, from a Darwinian POV, than timid fear!
I always thought Linville Falls looked relatively small, but seeing those guys standing next to it really gives a sense of scale.

Milepost 484 ive jumped from the same spot in the video. Its extremely difficult to get up there. The holds are very small and wet.

Dumb queston did the go trough the fall to get there and if you did fall intothe top part of the fall would you be able to survivie?
