    Amanda- care to do a follow up showing every thing you wore all the layers & accessories etc etc? I’m looking for a new jacket for spring (in PA) love hearing the layering recommendations

    The only problem with a yurt is no windows! I would love to watch the sunset over the snowy mountains while I’m sitting warm and cozy at my destination 😊

    Hi Amanda! First of all, thank you for all the beautiful videos and great tips about backpacking and camping! I love it! I'm planning a lot of backpacking trips with my family for spring and summer, and I love to follow your advices to prep. I was wondering if you could do a video about what's in your bag and especially how you pack it for a long backpacking hike (for example, 2-3 days). Again, thanks a lot! You're an inspiration! ☺🌿💚

    Happy New Year Amanda! Love this video! I would be curious to hear your thoughts or see a video on comparing the yurts you have stayed at before and what you like/don’t like about them to help others maybe know what to look for when booking a trip. I would love to hear what ideas you and Nick have about the dream one you would like to build too! So cool! Anyway, maybe this idea was on your radar already, but if not just throwing it out there! ❄️ ⛄️

      Happy New Year to you!! I do want to write a blog post one day comparing all the Utah yurts! I still have quite a few to visit though, so it might be a while until I get that done. Thank you for commenting!

    Slippers don't seem excessive to me, it's just like bringing lightweight sandals in the summer! And with all the weight you are saving not bringing a tent, might as well have some creature comforts.

    I stayed in a yurt last Thursday and Friday for the first time. I have to say it's not my favorite thing. I can't say if it was the yurt I stayed in (no cooking allowed inside) or the fact that it was cold with rain the entire time I was there, so not much to do. Maybe I'm just not a winter person. I prefer my tent. :) Happy new year! Can't wait til spring.

    .... You look SO happy doing this ... Years back had thought about hiking thru a yurt system in Colorado ,, actually looks like a good time .. with layers of snow would be done mostly on snowshoes but to learn something new ,, was going to pick up a pair of Split ski's for a test of new sport ... didn't happen but still above ground ... Have heard that in the summer months they open them to hikers and mountain bikers ....Stay Safe and have a blast ....
    ... Where is this ?? ..

    Happy New Year's! When I was a teenager my youth group would hike/snowshoe to a cabin/shack similar to a yurt. No power/water. It was a lot of fun. One of the nights we forgot to get the fire going really good before we fell asleep and we were freezing in the early morning. It was still a lot of fun!
    Question what brand is your orange gloves and snow boots?

    • @amanda.outside
      @amanda.outside  Год назад

      My boots are the Oboz Bridger boots and I love them! I linked to them in the description. The orange gloves I was wearing are probably at least 10 years old! I got them as a gift and I unfortunately don't recall where they came from.
