    Evicted from his adopted country whereby he made so much money for, brought joy plus, I believe, became the icon a lot of comedians followed. What could not he do? I am so glad he was Knighted by the Queen of his motherland. He more than well deserved it.

    Sir Charles from South London he and that other Knight of the Realm, Sir Michael Caine. Both brilliant.

    To cross The North Atlantic, you had to go by ocean liners to Southampton and it would take days in 1952. He couldn't arrive back from America by airplane to Gatwick Airport or Heathrow Airport like today, and feel jetlagged from the long flight.
