Mattie Clark died September 22, 1994. This video is from November 1994. Later in the video, Twinkie talks about how sad she was when she walked in the church because all the other times she came to the church, she was accompanying her mom. Dr. Clark was dead by this point and she said that all the love the audience showed gave her an uplifting in her spirit and took away the depression she had been in
This has got to be THE HARDEST thing to do. Song a song that was the anthem of not only your lifetime icon, but your mother and dearest friend, who's no longer at your side.. I applaud Twinkie and felt her through pain as she ministered this song.. RIP Dr. Clark.. Service IMMACULATELY done!
@@timmy841212True!!! I believe Twinkie & Dorinda were most hurt by the death of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark that it drove Dorinda the point of near suicide. And Twinkie, DEEP depression to the point she didn’t want to sing, play, or even record! She only did Masterpiece, the album with FAMU, and lastly Live in Charlotte, which is one of her BEST ALBUMS, were because she owed 3 more albums to the record label!!! Her writing, arrangement of song, HER VOCALS (Range & Versatility) was impeccable and unmatched…Twinkie really IS the 🐐!!! The videos online of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark’s Funeral is the edited version! There is an unedited version they were selling years ago, I’m going back maybe 20 years or so, Jacky Clark, put out a cease and desist letter which was strictly legally enforced, and backed up by the courts. It was ALL taken down off RUclips & Facebook, Social Cam, and all other Social Media Platforms where they were uploaded. I was fortunate to see the unedited version of Dr. Clark’s Funeral, and My God, them girls went through when they came in during the Family Processional. When Twinkie saw her Mother so Beautifully Laid Out, she just hit the floor. It was so sad. It was worst than the closing of the casket in my opinion. Both were very high emotional rollercoasters for them. Twinkie especially! She spent the Most Precious time with Dr. Clark traveling the Globe, and the length and breath of this country with her Mom constantly on the organ in rehearsal, and during church services. Teaching Music Workshops, Training Choirs, Writing and Playing, ALL with a STRONG & DEDICATED Life of Prayer, Fasting, & Consecration to the Ministry of Music, and to the God given calling on her life to retain the anointing!!! Not to mention a Preacher Extraordinaire!!! God Bless Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark The Queen of The B3 Hammond Organ, & The Queen of Modern Day Gospel Music!!! LONG LIVE TWINKIE CLARK!!!
Wow! Twinkie and the rest of the Clark Sisters are really humble servants for the Lord!! To be ministering like this so soon after her mom's passing...I just love Twinkie!
This is the anointing taking over the entire sanctuary. We need to get back to this style of worship. No time frame. No "setting the mood for the Spirit to come in". Just letting the Lord have His way with His people....
TWINKIE'S MY FAVORITE CLARK SISTER! She DID a VERSION OF THIS ON HER LP called 'MASTERPIECE' AND IT'S JUST THAT! Her Piano skills are another Blessing!
i love this song but i heard it in so many other videos but this one is different because dr. mattie moss clark is not there (rip)....u can sorta feel twinkie break down.....i almost cried
That's an amazing tribute to Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark and the season that Twinkie and the family were going through. Yes, Ms. Twinkie, that sounds BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE IT!! AMAZING!
This is probably my favourite live video version of this song! I just love the emotion Twinkie is singing with. And the ending was soo nice! This is my dad's favourite song, and I love it as well.
Still watching this in 2020. The crisis we're in and to see this gives me the strength to carry on. I still cry watching this.I wish i could see Twinkie sing this in person🙏 God continue to bless the Clarks and everyone stay safe wherever you are💖💖💖💖💖✌🙌🙌🙌
man this video made me cry, my God. I could only imaginwe what she was feeling Jesus. But to know God is a friend, especially when your mother mean so much and was all that you have, Man im so grateful to God for life
The words of this song touches the heart and soul and its a personal testimony for each and everyone of us. He is calling us all back to that place in Him where He can share His heart with us. I think Twinkie was/is at at that place, its not that she was sad, its just the very awesomeness of God. When u experience it you will know for sure. God bless u all.
there's an old video of the clark sisters singing this with a choir...all in white...and rance allen comes in and just KILLS IT!! i used to have it on VHS and lost it!! anybody have that one??? PLEASE POST!!!
Thank you Lord for your love. There is no one like U Lord. Have u tried Jesus? Have u called on Him lately? He is waiting to hear from u. He loves u more than u can imagine. Go to Him, let Him hold u in His arms and comfort you. He is bigger than any problem you are facing and nothing is too hard for God to work out. Don't stay in the misery and pain, call HIM.
Absolutely a blessing!!! I've truly tried Him and know Him to be a friend!!! I know just too much about Him!!! This song is truly a blessing to my soul!
@doodoobro2627 Thank bro in Christ, when I saw Twinkie almost break down I recognized...We all love Mother Mattie,it is different to hear the song without her vocals too....Rest in the Lord Dr. Clark
Thats not true!!!!! Twinkie took her mother's death harder than the rest because Dr. Mattie was Twinkie's back bone when it came down to making music & songs.... she was face with having to do it all on her own....... as far as Twink Twink leaving the group, they got all the together and Dr. Mattie was never upset, mad or angry with Twinkie because she left, Dr. Clark always knew that the girls would get back together!!!!!
Hey go to RUclips and key in Twinkie “High Praise” old school medley..... that will pull up the first video before she gets into the real singing. Let me know if you pull it up
Let me guess: right before he found this vid online fruitpassion50 probably had just hit on Mr. Winn at some church function and got upset when Ted igg'ed him. LOL you know the story.
I don't think that Dr. Mattie Clark allowed Twinkie at her death bed, because Twinkie quit the Clark Sisters to start a family. That family got some stories....
w807260 that's so wrong in so many ways if you don't know anything about the situation DON'T speak on it. By the Dr. Clsrk understood Twinkie' s reason for leaving and they still had a great relationship she was still her accompanist who traveled with Dr. clark to play the organ and sing with her

I agree. I don't know she managed to get through it. 1994 was tough on the Clarks but on Twinkie more so.

I can just feel her grieving for her mother while she sings this. Recalling when they sung it together ...R.I.H.
Dr. Mattie Moss Clark
I've noticed now a days when Twinkie sings that song, she sings the chorus & not the verse. I guess because to her it's not the same without her mom.
Was just thinking that. Always skips the verse
Wow never thought about that
Didn't realize but you are so right.
I am about to cry. Stop Twinkie!
I know...Lord the absence of your mother, wow! I still have my mother to God I give the thanks and praise!!!
@@nishmcallister3846 me too im blessed to have both my parents

this is what churuch chiors need to get back in the habit of singing.
I don't know who this choir is but the way they backed here was tight.
Yes. When she couldn't sing, they understood the assignment.

@fruitpassion50 Dear God how you going to be "disgusted" with something someone did almost twenty years ago!!? People are so deep.

@w807260 and i believe that one is a LIE.

That’s a lie from the deepest part of Hell. Whoever this soul is that left this senseless comment, please shut up 🤐
w807260 that is not true
Not true. Not true at all.
@fruitpassion50 Wow that didn't look good at all....kinda looked a little feminine.
Lord what was wrong with her🤔
This was her and her mother's song. She passed 2 month before this was recorded so she's very emotional performing it without her.
chubbychuckle I figured it out after I heard her say some bout it later.. poor thing but it's what we must go thru
