  • I've seen the question asked about which the best glue is so many times, I thought I'd put it to the test.
    This channel is dedicated to tutorials and reviews.
    I have a separate pilot channel dedicated to flying videos which can be found here: • Zohd Drift - Gaps, Gap... please check it out!

    My favorite is the Gorilla glue that foams. Don't wet the surface if you have some humidity in the air. You can also mix a drop of water into the blob of glue, and then spread it on the joints.

    One thing to know about hot glue joints is that they can easily be separated with a couple drops of alcohol

    With gorilla glue clear you are only supposed to spray with water if one surface is non porous like glass or metal or ceramic etc . You should probably test it again without water if doing foam to foam to see how it goes. I've had completely different results using gorilla glue clear on foam to foam

    Use e6000 and regular Ca on all epp and epo builds and repairs...i like gorilla gel lately...only have 2 eps foam planes which can be fixed with contact cement or epoxy.

      No I haven't, I'm not sure if it's safe to use on EPP or would dissolve it.

      No its not. Only spread it on one surface and apply pressure while it dries. Takes a couple of hours to set.

    All of these glues appear to be more than strong enough for foam EPO RC plane repair. Hot glue is very inexpensive and for all intents and purposes, the best deal for your money. Some of these other brand name glues put out especially for foam repair are atrociously overpriced and not worth the money frankly.

    • @kwadology587
      @kwadology587  Год назад +1

      I'm means a tune of UHU Por is £2.50 and E6000 is maybe £6 on a plane that's probably £250+ plus with the electronics doesn't seem crazy money to me. Never built an EPO model always been EPP for me but I'd guess there's no much difference in the results. For flat surfaces I'd take UHU Por over hot glue everyday of the week, I think you get a better (and lighter) join. Like a bit if hot glue for rough repairs sometime though. 👍

      @@kwadology587 Interesting. I don't get those particular glues here in Canada but I have tried many from the hobby shop by specific brand names. They do all work albeit not as quickly for my purposes as basic hot glue. Broken plastic nose cowlings won't repair with the quick bonding glues so I also use hot glue for them. I like how it expands into the joints for major foam breaks but as it expands, you do have to follow up quickly to remove the excess glue before it hardens. It's also a little quick to bond which doesn't give you much time to work, but a little practice and I have found (for me anyway) it pretty much replaces the more expensive specialty glues. But ...hey ...whatever works !!

    So are you sure the E6000 is actually e6000.. i tested the e6000 on a piece of foam and it just ate it up.. so ya don't use e6000 on foam planes unless you want s melted mess

    • @kwadology587

      Yes a lot of people use E6000 on EPP, definitely doesn't melt it. Are you sure it was EPP foam you used it on, not something else?
