I wouldn't call it that so much. You do have the option for a user to upload a photo, which the native picker will ask if they want to take a photo or select one from their library.

Can Adalo get access to contacts on users phone? Otherwise I don’t understand how it is possible to search and explore friends you want to follow..

No, you cannot search your contacts from your phone. You can share information from an Adalo app with your contacts via the Share action
