Prairie Warbler singing and nest building in Connecticut

  • Prairie Warbler, Dendroica discolor. Here is a pair with the male singing on territory and the female gathering nesting material and nest building in May. If you listen you will hear Indigo Bunting, Blue-winged Warbler and Field Sparrows singing as well. These birds are typically found in the same habitat in CT.

    I think this is a good video because there are Field Sparrows singing in the background and sometimes those two vocalizations can confuse you.

    Beautiful video. Calms me so much. I really wonder how you can get such great images of so many bird species. I would love to see how you do it. Maybe a video about that??

    Fantastic! Thanks for rekindling my love for this charming bird. Field sparrow at the :06 mark? They've always sounded a little similar to me, and now that I think about it, back in southernmost Indiana, I would often hear these two birds singing in the same area. Where was this recorded?

    Cool! I found one dead on front of my front door. It could mean something.. idk oh well. Cool bird though!
