Sons of Anarchy is a more of a D-rated version of The Sopranos. It's just a crime drama. The Sopranos is a genuine work of art. You have to watch it a few times to really appreciate it. It gets better when you don't have to focus on the plot/character arcs. Also shylock just means loan shark.
Yeah SoA was one of those rough around the edges shows, solid with 4 and 5 actually being really good seasons for me, but not best on television or legendary level. Just from this first season I can imagine the escalation of emotion, stakes, and quality.
You love dream sequences? You're in luck because there are some phenomenal ones in this show, especially in the later seasons. The season 1 dreams are a bit more basic, but later they're extremely complex, and you'll have fun interpreting them.
Tony nicknames his neighbor "Cooze" since his last name is Cuzamano. Which must translate to "cooze in hand"? Lol A lot of the last names in the show have funny translations.
Catching up on your reactions. Gonna say I was a bit offended by the Sons of Anarchy comparison until you clarified. A lot of FX shows seem to be bullshit ripoffs of The Sopranos. I think mostly because all so-called prestige tv is trying to catch up to this show. The Shield is the best thing to come out of FX, hands down, and the guy who was a writer on that created Sons which is why I gave it a shot but that show pissed me off, man.
@@DMReactions2 I know you mentioned liking seasons 4&5 but how'd you feel about the ending? I remember laughing with friends cause I absolutely hated Jax by that point. Also, I was gonna wait til I caught up all the way to suggest it but I absolutely think you guys should watch Goodfellas before heading into season 2. The best primer there is for this show, I think.
A couple people having been saying to watch Goodfellas soon so we are gonna try and do that. I need to watch The Shield very badly that will be on the channel at some point, Fargo is my favorite FX show I have persoanlly watched. SoA's ending was ehh to me, did not love it did not think it was terrible. My main problem with the final season was how stretched out it felt. I have never watched a season of television where it felt like every episode ran overtime 30 minutes. usually that does not matter for me, I mean the more content the merrier typically, but after every episode I was so burned out it turned me off of the last season. I feel like that put a damper on my feelings of the finale overall. I also wanted Jax and Tara to be exact parallels to Gemma and Clay but those two characters went down different routes which personally disappointed me, not like they were bad just personally disappointed. I also did not love Jax by the end. My two favorite characters of the show were probably Gemma and Tara and obviously season 6 finale happened (legendary moment in tv for me one of my greatest reactions to a death I wish I recorded it) and then with Gemma I do want to give SoA its props. I loved Gemma since the very beginning of the show, immediate favorite character, and I know you are meant to hate her but I like those sort of characters, but SoA actually made me hate a character I love in a good way. In a way that perfectly fit her character, she was just so horrible by the end its like I saw the error of my own ways and went "this chick needs to die!" So after all that in season 6 I really did not like/love any characters. So while I dont think the final season was BAD it was dragged out and the characters became ones whom I did not root for.
I gotta clear the air here with this, the headphones were bought for 100% satirical use, cause they look funny for videos. And they will be staying, because they are funny to look at.

@@DMReactions2 Yeah Sons was fine. The Shield (written by the same guy) is way better IMO. That's a great action packed series if you've not seen it.
Very high on my list to watch and will 100% be on the channel one day.
