Thanks for watching!
My hunger for vanlife videos is endless. Been years and years of watching them, all sorts of time sleeping and traveling in cars myself, and I still feel curious about how each design :)
Truly is a customizing dream for creativity
I was the same way and had tons of notes from cooking to using the bathroom! When I went on my first roadtrip/camping trip 900 miles from my home, I was officially HOOKED! Love this lifestyle! ❤❤❤
Eu também...😅😅😅......
Three Year Process
One of the messages Ken is putting across is one doesn't have to get it perfect from the get go. Have patience and understand your travel vehicle will be a work in process as you optimize it to fit your lifestyle. I'd say he has the right attitude here.
after 8 years, the constant refining is one of my favorite parts of vanlife. contemplating your space, getting a new idea, doing research, making and executing the plan, enjoying the fruits- all very satisfying!
Oh that's excellent@@nonya.bizness !
I like the way Cody comes with them to the side to look. 🙂 This guy shows joy for his camping style, and he's made his set up really nice for a small space!
Like the organization. 😀
Instead of "Where's Waldo", it's "Where's Cody". 😂
My camper is a Toyota Corolla hatchback.
I have a good sized, very comfortable bed, a kitchen that takes 30 seconds to set up, 60 litres of clothes storage, 40 litres of pantry storage in the kitchen area plus 15-20 litres of bulk dry storage, 30 litres of water, a water filter, a 3x3 m gazebo, a toilet, a solar panel that fits on the dashboard and much more.
Last year I added a 20 litre 12v cooler for a 2 month road trip, during which I covered 14,000 km.
Each trip brings a lot of improvements to my setup. Less is definitely more when you work out what you really don’t need.
I bought an awning last year, but decided to stick with the $27 beach umbrella from Bunnings that takes a minute to set up with my camp chair and the back hatch door.
Wet weather is a bit tough, but a good trick is to go to a shopping centre and use the 2 or 3 hour free parking to cook a hot meal and get yourself and your car all sorted out.
I have never been cold at night in my little camper even when it was -8C. I made a blackout curtain that goes up in 5minutes and covers all the windows.
It’s a bit tricky to put it up properly from the inside, but it can be done.
My friends who live in much bigger vans and trucks can’t believe the variety of things I can magic out of my little car.
“Has anyone got….?”
I do! Lol
Thank you Bob! Another great and informative video. Keep them coming!
Thank You Bob and Ken🙏👍🐕🦺🇺🇲
Always love to see how many ways people can set there rigs up for themselves. Nice setup. He’s got it figured out for himself✌🏻🇺🇸
Hello from Puerto Rico Bob and cheapRV living friends
My favourite thing is to see Cody in the videos ! He is a star and so cute !
would you like something of his inside something of yours? 🧐
Thank you Ken for sharing your home. A bit too small for me, but I am so happy for you. I am still contemplating what could be the best for me. My thoughts have changed so much since I started thinking about Van life in September '24. Thank you Bob for what you do.
What a cheerful person!
I clicked for a quick look stayed for the whole video. Y’a got me good. Very nice content and what a nice gentlemen that was for showing us around his home
I,ve just started tiny living loving it 😍 just moved out of a 3 bedroom anchor sold or gave away 95%of stuff feeling lighter 😳
Been there. Been full time 4.5 years now. I love it and highly doubt I will be in sticks and bricks again! Very best to you and practice makes perfect!! ❤
Love it ... life simplified and living the dream of traveling this beautiful nation.
I recently went camping and took my ice maker with me, makes a huge difference
A 4 door Jeep is a palace compared to a 2 door. I lived in my 2005 TJ for 5 months and traveled all over.
I basically slept in the front seat and kept my gear in the back where l installed a big storage box and a cargo rack. It was challenging and l slept in a lot of interesting places and traveled all over the west.
Now l have an off road/off grid trailer and l vastly prefer that but the stealth of car can’t be beat.
Thanks Bob.
Thanks Bob!
great set up for sure!!! I love knowing a Jeep can be outfitted and used this way .
Very informative! Hitting the road soon myself 2002 Isuzu Trooper. Love these inspiring stories. Thanks! See you on the road. 🖖🏼
I like his set up and I love his shirt! Cody was very interested in everything. I'm going to check out his channel. Thanks, Bob and Ken, for the video.
I don't often get rig envy, but oh my! What a fine rig ❤❤❤❤❤
Great job, Ken and Bob!
Great little travel home…love it all!❤
I can tell he is a nice person
Great set up... Nothing beats 4 wheel drive...😂👌💯🌅
I'm with you fellow Jeeper, I'm in a Jeep Cherokee and Love it !
an auto repair shop's favorite make!
Total freedom buddy - sweet !!!
Very small. very clever.. Safe travels
I love ice cubes, too!! I’m imagining that iced tea over actual ice. Yum!! 😊
This is the way.
Ooooh, this is so inspiring me to start setting up my '93 Bronco!
How awesome! What a great set up and mindset!
Great set up!
This guy is on the same mindset as I am. I like traveling Spartan. Although I do carry a canvas tent, and some solar panels. I travel light in my 2012 Ford transit connect.
Thank you for sharing.
This guy is great!
Like Bob says: The more freedom you want, the less space you’re going to have. I would LOVE a 4wd sprinter but I’m a woman alone, half my life is in cities, and that would attract too much attention. I would also love a jeep but I’m a mixed media artist and crafter so I need lots of supplies, plus I meal prep with lots of appliances, and the jeep isn’t big enough to hold everything. Going with an AWD Sienna minivan was the best compromise for me.
But once I’m older or I’m over living in cities, I’m getting an 4x4 van.
Yes! AWD hybrid sienna….though used, cuz yowza are they pricey newer.
I'm 54 female. I give myself 10 years before I'm ready
what a dream come true, and imagine a pal with another vehicle like this or a whole group
I put my ice in gal ziplock bags 👍so much better then soaking food !
This is awesome..thnks for these great videos. I made almost this same exact setup on mine. That tire cargo carrier will soon be added to my build!
This is a nice rig! Never saw one like it.
Great guy, and astonishing set up; Is just amazing what he manages in such small space. I do wondered how long this works when it is raining or snowing and/or icecold :-/ But still, many great solutions and ideas! Thanks for sharing Ken and Bob! Jason
Very helpful! I am going to be on the road as full time in one week with my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JLU and am finishing my setup.
Yo your gonna have a blast decking that out with gear good choice of vehicle too.
I hope you have a blast dude
Yep, he's got almost everything. 😊 Good idea regarding the ice.
He's got to be pretty flexible, I imagine.
Great guest Bob great job 👍👍
Thanks for the great video.
I currently setting up my 2015 Jeep JKU for traveling across the USA.
This will be my 3rd trip. I’ve made 2 trips in my 4door RAV4.
Having the Jeep JKU will be like traveling in a motorhome with all the room. 😂
Thanks for putting these videos out.👍😎
Have fun
This guy is on it! 😊
👍😊 My goodness!! Ken is the spitting image of my brother Ken.
A nice setup for off roading.
Thx Luvs ❤❤🎉🎉
SuggEstion try pellats, 10 pound bag lasts at least 3 months and to me cat liter does not stop odor . Soak the pellats in water half less water then pellats stir occasionally, they will turn into more of a sand texture and last so well. No odor !
Horse pellets are best indeed.
I’m a ice cube lover too! Nothin like ice.
Great video !!! Love his set up 👏🏽👏🏽
This channel is helping me plan out the perfect van layout for my new van life experience in 2026.
Hey Ken, just subscribed to your channel. Very impressed with your jeep. Be safe out there. Have a great time looking forward to seeing more of your channel. Have a good day.
That an awesome weekend rig, long vacation and transportation all at the same time. Great set up.
That's exactly what I've been debating, an older full size van with no four-wheel drive or a Suburban or Tahoe with four-wheel drive though they are smaller. I want the four-wheel drive like he has :-)
Color me green. I'm looking out the window at 8 inches of snow. .....they don't even have jacket on! Lol
Great job, I just subscribed. Very cool. That is a truly amazing setup.
Jealous! It's so good to see SUV rigs as I'm in one myself. Super new and trying to get things to work but I'm about ready to tear out the backseat for more space
Cool setup :)
I've done that in my 96 Jeep Cherokee XJ, and I'm a fulltime RV'er in a 40 Diesel Pusher Motorhome and also when not in a RV park take out my little SquareDrop trailer and go camping or just the nessities and go Jeep Camping but looking to Down size from the 40 footer!
Love this! I drive a Jeep and want to do this. My problem is books. LOL
Bob. Could you review the Ecoflow 800W Alternator Charger. It’s supposed to charge at 800 Watts. I see a lot of people have the Ecoflow Delta’s. No need for Solar Panels. It will charge a Delta 2 to 80% in 53 minutes or 100% in 80 minutes. For folks who don’t want to deal with large solar panels this is a great and faster charging solution.
Thanks,
Phil
Very nice set up
Show and tell for adults.
I'm interested to know about that rear shelf. Can you give us the brand or a link for it? What a nice rig. I appreciate that he's designed it so he can sit up on the side of the bed. There are a lot of things that are easier to do if you can sit up, like putting on shoes, getting your cold weather gear on, doing some light cooking, hunting around for stuff when it wet out and you don't want to go outside.
That's a nice setup
Freedom❤
There's always Walmart
Bob wells is like " are u my brother?"
👍🏽👋🏽😊💯💯

Please do a video on where to stay cheaply when on the road.
Great video, I often find that the SUV tours are my favorite (I am partial because I am starting out in an SUV, 2007 4Runner). I would be curious to know what kind of shelf that is in the back, I do like the storage option above the feet. Great advice and tips! I appreciate the simplicity!
Great information thanks for posting 👍
I like those 4 door Jeeps. They drive better on the road than the 2 door Jeeps.
👍👍👍
👍👍👌💪😀😀🙏
Nice
Nice Jeep. You went to town on it.
Good morning 😊
I have an AWD Ford Transit with a winch and never get stuck.
CheapRVliving can be Jeep RVliving.
😊
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤘
👍😍
I need just a little more room , but to each their own , 🙂
Question, have any of you tried a usb powered heated sleeping bag liner from temu?
Hello Bob, Where is this location? it looks like a forest!
Sorry Cody but all I can think about is the ice you didn’t put back in the cooler.😳
Would have been helpful to share Ken's height, to help others figure out if they could fit laying down.
You have to measure your own height compared to your own vehicle, this is just an example. Or rock up to a jeep showroom with a measuring tape 😂
Have a bolt action. 22 rifle suppressed. Food on the table if you need to?🙂
I have always used a similar vehicle and slept in the back much like this setup. Last summer, I went Idaho with a pickup truck and a teardrop trailer. Over 50% of what I took was never used. More space, more stuff.
Is there a reason you didn’t trade it in?
Did I miss what he uses for his shelf?
Jeep and Amazon sell them. You can also find DIY ideas on RUclips as an alternative. IntheOpenAir has a brilliant and cheap design.
oh my, what kind of mattress does he have? the head of it is propped up by open plastic crates and the bottom half has a ladder right under it?
guy must have a back of steel lol!
No way if you run into raining days that would suck ill still to my mini van
