I've spent longer watching my calendar app to see if it will notify me when it gets to the allotted time than it has ever spent time actually notifying me of anything! I watch the time creep towards the reminder eagerly awaiting my HELLO tone notification but never hear anything. Pencil and paper just as efficient!
Thanks for posting this video. At 6:00 you said that I can go on my iOS settings > sounds and haptics > and change the general sound for alerts. However, the sound that I have chosen On this menu for calendar alerts and reminder alerts does not play. WIN Google calendar. Sends a push notification about an event reminder. How do I make that work? Running iOS 16.0.3 and Google Calendar v22.39.0.
If you have iPhone and you are still not getting it to work, its most likely because you don't have the app running in the background. After several experiments, I have found out that you will get a notification if you have the app running in the background.
Really? Not in my experience. We get notifications intermittently on different Apple devices without having opened the Google Calendar app. Problem is, intermittently on only some devices, need all devices to be notified. I think it is different privacy settings on a couple devices
The info is useful, but my suggestion is that your slides should move slower to support a general target audience. Everyone cannot visualize and comprehend as quickly. particularly, when one has developed cognitive and or visual issues. TY
Hey Guys, I'm tearing my hair out with my iPhone - I don't get notifications from my Google calendar and I've tried everything and it still doesn't work.I missed a meeting this morning as a result. Not cool. I have two accounts shared on my calendar, work and personal. When I go to the in app settings - burger icon and into general and scroll down, I don't have the option to turn on notifications 🤷🏼♀ Any ideas???!!!
hey guys How can I continue receiving calendar notifications from a hidden calendar?? I just dont want those entries shown on my calender HOWEVER I want to receive the notifications (I just don't like too much stuff on my calender). PLease help thanks
Today after watching this video I see that Apple Calendar notifications were off, (I do not use that app) but Google Calendar notifications were set to enabled. Symptom is that notifications are going only to ONE device (iPhone, iPad, 2nd iPhone). I am now trying setting Apple Calendar notifications to enabled. This makes no sense. I typically do NOT leave Google Calendar running in the background (and most certainly NEVER leave Apple Calendar running, since I do not use it). I force close most apps to extend battery life. Do I just need to get an Android?!?!? This issue causes me to miss important meetings. 😮 😿😡
Maybe this is the issue: 1. Uninstalled/deleted Google Calendar 2. Download Google Calendar from Apple Store, Re-install 3. Open the Google Calendar app, first thing it asks is “Google Calendar Would Like To Access Your Calendar. Calendars are used to show events and birthdays.” [Dont Allow] or [OK] WTF! What setting allows Google cloud event notifications and reminders on an Apple device? I do not see why Google and Apple need to integrate and co-mingle this data to function! Is this the problem, I really have only one valid reply - [OK] - to get this to work?
In its infinite wisdom Apple has eliminated the sound select option from Google Callender in iOS. The permanent sound they set it at is a little twiddle that sounds only once. I carry my phone in my back pocket so no joy in hearing that.

Then when setting up the Google account in the Google Calendar app on the iPhone, first time use for EVERY Google account, you get very ominous privacy setting forms to allow iOS to access your Google data (up to and including DELETE - scary!). And settings to allow Google to access your iOS data (again, ominous warning including DELETE). Please create a video explaining these complex relationships. Should I abandon Google Calendar on my Apple devices, or move to an Android-based device? Will all flavors of Android work, or will some be locked down like Apple? (Google Pixel products probably work, but the others?!?)
I use an old fashioned pencil and planner but I am here to say I am so happy to see you again!❤️
Thank you!

nice tutorial, thx!!! I wanted to ask if you know any solution for being notified (NOT per Email ) when on a shared calendar events are added/changed?

I need to go back to your previous video now I’ve refreshed with this one. Welcome back!! I hope all are well!
Thank you! You too!
I wouldve loved that the dinner example was the other way around 😌 thanks for the vid, it helped
The quality of everything is really good, impressive.
Thank you!
21 seconds in, all sorted thank you so much.
To bad my phone does not work the same way as your showing. So unfortunately this was no help

Hey,
Could you tell me how to run in ios?

Thrilled to see your faces on here again! ❤️
Thank you so much! The videos are coming at a different pace now, but we are glad to be back!

Duly noted. Thanks for your feedback.

Same with mine. I used to get a sound. Now I assume with new releases, no sound and no notification on the Lock Screen and I had it all turned on.
any chance you figured out a way to solve your issue? i am having the same problem with my google calendar.
Yeah if anyone has any updates for this issue, please let me know
Great answers! My only problem is that it is somehow set up to work on CarPlay? Is there a way to change that on an iPhone, does anyone know?

Does anyone know how to get Google Calendar and Tasks badges to show up on iPhone?
So happy to see you back. Love your videos.
Glad you like them! Thank you.
This was so helpful. Thank you!
thank you guys 😊
Can you help us out here, please? If we are both logged into the same account, only one device gets a notification. What are we doing wrong?
Hello DRAGŴN. Odds are that the notifications are disabled on the device itself. What type of device is it that is not receiving notifications?

Aww thank you so Much God bless You ❤️
Aww, you are so welcome! Glad we could help! Are there any other issues we can help with?
You're back! :)
You know it!
🤦♀l still do not hear my notifications on my Android, l tried everything already... please help me!
Did You Solved It?
We missed you!
Thank you, Cathy. 😊
How to turn notifications off? On iPhone
Settings -> Notifications -> Google Calendar -> Allow Notifications (toggle off)
Welcome back!!
Thanks. 😁

Miss your videos! I hope you are fine 😊
On Android it's not working at all
Notification On
In calendar notification On
Still not working
I have the same problem! 😕
How do I get notified when something gets added to my shared calendar? My girlfriend can add something new and I won't see it
See the video tutorial towards the end for your answer
IF YOU PHONE IS ON SILENT YOU STILL GET NOTIFICATIONS. THEY JUST DONT MAKE NOISE
The most important thing is desktop notification and alerts DN is for pc and Alerts are for Mobile 💢
New (duplicate thread). I began replying but realized those were 1yr ago questions. See replies to this (below).
I think I have discovered the root cause of no notifications or intermittent notifications. Privacy settings!
