yep at 1:07. squad leaders not helping with garries is the worst feeling ever. and the entire team moving on attack without leaving behind any defense kills me.
It all comes with practice. I admit that sometimes this game can be a slog, but suddenly you get the perfect game with a talkative squad and in my opinon it becomes the best game out there.

I want to like this game but I either get shot with zero warning or Im late to pull the trigger because Im unsure if it's a friendly in front of me

Persistence. Turn all HUD elements on to help guide you. Look for clan tags who are officers, talk to them, ask them what they need, keep trying!
