    Thanks for the video! I just got one of those and am supposed to get it installed in a couple of days. I'm 65 and a lot of the new "gadgets" might be tough for me to get, but I got it mainly for the Auto Pilot. When I lived in Florida, in the 90's. I had a Minn Kota with the Auto Pilot. I LOVED it!! I sold my boat down there and moved here to Alabama and just got another boat a few months ago. It had a Motor Guide (YUCK) and hated it. I had to get off my wallet and buy this one, but I am excited to have it. I plan on going down to the river and trying it out just as soon as I can. Thanks!

    Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video. Everyone is trying to sell me a $3000 trolling motor. I don’t need or can afford all that. My boat isn’t any bigger then yours and it’s all aluminum. It’s light as hell. After your video I’m not convinced all I need is a 12v 55lb thrust with that same battery. I’m getting a hummingbird helix 9 installed at the console in a few weeks. But no one has the terrova 12v available. Thanks again

    I8 Creek time to come out of hibernation, hard to believe I'm ahead of you just got back from Ingalls this Tuesday and mapped out a trail on the back channel over to swan creek.
    Even managed to add way points to the hazards ( stumps) between the channel and back to the mouth.

    Thanks for the great video about this motor!’ I just installed the 12 v terrova in my bass tracker ! I haven’t run it yet and was wondering about the 54ah battery you have! Would you say that you could have a solid 8 hour day using spot lock ? I fish for crappie on particular structure and cover and will probably use spot lock a lot! Thanks again! I hit that sub!👊

    How long do you get outta that Dakota lifepo4 battery? I was gunna grab another 100ah battle born because I fish the local tournaments in the Midwest & find myself always powerfishin offshore vs Flippin & pitchin.. so I figured I'd run that thing down with a smaller trolling motor (got the 12v 55 going on my small aluminum 17ft lowe becuz a ton of lakes we have derbys on are horsepower limited or no gas at all so I can't take my crestliner with a 150hp as id only be trolling so I bought the lowe last season)
    Am I good for a 8 hour derby off a 100ah China special? Or would you be good off your 54ah dakota lithium for a 8 hour tournament?

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад

      I've fished for a solid 8 hours before and never drained it. But that's moving from spot to spot and not staying on the pedal constantly. I can't give you a definite answer for your situation. If it were me, as light as this battery is, I'd run it until it crapped out and have that china special you're speaking of on deck to swap over to just incase.

    Great Video. Thank You for taking the time to make it really appreciate it. I know it answered my question about the Terrova 12v and the power. I forgot do you have your transducer mounted to the head of the motor, and do you have it done like all the other RUclips videos. “With the bike lock “

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад

      No problem at all. I do have the transducer mounted to the barrel, and the wire is wrapped loosely around the shaft and protected by a rod sleeve.

    Do you ever regret going with the 55AH insted of the dakota 100AH?

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад +1

      No, not yet. It was mostly a cost thing. The smaller one was half the price, and I haven't drained it yet fishing 6-8 hours.

    You still happy with the 54amh battery over 100? Looking to possibly do the same setup, but I fish rivers and the great lakes sometimes which would require spot lot for hours at a time

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад +1

      In your case the 100ah would probably be a smart buy. I've had zero issues with the 54ah. But I'd splurge for the larger battery, just for the peace of mind.

    Just found your video is the 55lb thrust enough on your boat or do you find yourself wanting more power Like stepping up to the 80lb thrust

      Yesterday I was out in the highest wind I've been in. 25 mph. I had it on the max and was barely holding in place. Really shouldn't have been out in that, but you gotta scratch that itch, right? With that being said, I'm extremely happy with it. If I had a bigger boat, I'd have probably went with the 80. But my little tracker doesn't have enough room for 3 batteries without sacrificing tackle space.

    Just added a 12V Terrova to my bass tracker and love it - word to the wise and get a LiFePO4 battery and you will get a ton more time out of your motor and way more cycles than a deep cycle.

    In shallow water is it easy to pull up the motor? I fish some electric only lakes and load my boat with the TM. My old powerdrive I just hold up the string and let the prop run shallow.

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад +1

      Not really. Because of the release and not having a string and handle. I'd imagine you could put one on it and just trip the release if needed and hold it up that way.

    Where did you get that graph pole mount? I'm looking for one like that. Thanks in advance.

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  Год назад +1

      It's a piece of 5/8 threaded pipe screwed into a floor flange. The top part is screwed into a tee fitting with another piece of pipe threaded into the ends. Yeah, it sounds Jerry rigged. But it's sturdy enough for me. The gentleman before me had 4 on the boat for crappie fishing, so I just utilized what I had. Planning on installing a dedicated mount in the future.

    Does that 54ah hold up on a windy day for about 4 or 5 hours? I was thinking about getting a 100ah but maybe that over kill. Also I was thinking about getting maybe a 10 or 15ah just to run livewell and fishfinders. Do you think that would work?

    • @upthecreekyt
      @upthecreekyt  2 года назад
