+Bobby Drexler Yeah right?! I'm glad I found this. All the guitar tutorials are pretty far off. Like the intro, the way this guy plays it is way easier. I can't believe I never thought of playing it that way.

I actually think what this video shows is that the song is greater than the group. An inspired moment in history can create something that is hard to re-capture. The band know this and so give a watered down version here. I think that there is something in a composer NOT to give away the soul of a song in this way but to leave it pristine.
Question for the band. Did you change the key to C# because when you played that signature intro it was pretty much U2 Where the Streets Have No Name?? Great job explaining the parts Eli. Thank you!
Great band of talented musicians in a time period where talent is not really in the forefront! I have one question - why is the band playing it in C at the end of this video? Is it for the vocal? Guys, if you see this, please let me know, thanks. Just curious.
+Richie Ranno A lot of bands that record in a nice high key usually play half a step or a whole step down live. Think about going on tour and having to hit those notes every day! You'd burn out most singers. I once heard Maroon 5 playing some song at least a step and a half down! I was like damn... LOL
Is the song in C# or C? The video starts off in C#, but then when the whole band is jamming on it you guys switch to C. It doesn't matter I suppose, but every bass "instructional" video I've seen on RUclips the bass starts on F#. I'd like to keep it as close to the original as possible.
This is one of the best goddam breakdowns of the 'why' of a song that i have ever been a part of. As a player, this is informational beast mode for those striving to 'feel' the WHY so they can undersatnd the musicality fully. You need to know what the original artist intends it to sound like and understand that specific 'why' before you and your apathetic 4 chord 'Cossie Club;' gloss over try to point it in another direction.
I forget the drummers name, but when Walk The Moon does acoustic sessions, the drummer is usually playing something cardboard as a snare with brushes, (Pizza box, just a sheet of cardboard, a box) and suitcase as a kick drum. Just those 2 things, he can pretty much play any WTM song
Literally no guitar tutorial on youtube play's it correctly haha I love it, finally found the real way to play it

+Richie Ranno Yeah it's for the vocals if you're still wondering. On acoustic versions they always bring the key down.

Broccoli Man C#
+Broccoli Man On most of their acoustic videos they always change the key of their songs
Sounds like the singer has trouble hitting the higher notes in C# so they moved it down a half step to C.
If you like the guitar work here you need the bands Maserati, Goose, and If These Trees Could Talk. Dotted 8th note delay riffs forever
What is the opening track in this video called?
It's an acoustic version of their song Aquaman.
can someone explain me the shapes at 3:17
😊p
