headphones, 100% volume, and you'll probably get like 20-30% of the concert feeling... the amount of energy Ensemble Modern pumps into the concert hall when playing this is insane, almost unbearable! That said, 10/10 would listen live again if i get the chance 😄
A modern composer who writes prolation canon that sounds like canon - and can be followed like canon! And sounds great into the bargain!! How refreshing!
Neat, I'm playing on this. It's an astounding piece. I believe this is from a live radio broadcast. We made a proper recording production of this the day before the show, which should be released in the near future.
That's awesome, I heard you guys play it back in February and it was quite the ride! Will there also perhaps be some bass-perspective-rehearsal shots of the piece on your channel some day?
@@sebastianzaczek Nice, was that in Hamburg? I have a few videos from rehearsals, but nothing too exciting to share. It's difficult with electric instruments. The phone doesn't pick up the amplifier very well, and setting up a DI-recording to mix in is way too much effort for a selfie.
@@PaulCannonBass Yes that was in Hamburg. I also wonder how it would have sounded like in the large hall, bummer that it had to be moved to the smaller hall... Hmm that phone not picking up the amp makes sense, i didn't consider that. Anyway I'm excited to hear your recording production of the piece once that's out. Also, if you can leak this publicly here, are there currently any plans to perform this piece again in the near future?
@@sebastianzaczek We probably would have played even louder. A lot of things were held back due to the small room's acoustic, but it was still a very good version as I recall. It sounded very different at the Berliner Festspielhaus, which isn't a concert hall so we could dial everything way up and just jam. I'm not aware of any future performances, but I hope it comes up again. It's an unbelievable piece of music, and very fun to play.

Wooooooooooooooooooo
Music from the universal insane asylum
Poppe can't write a single piece of good music
You're one comment away from getting Poppe to quit composing. Don't give up.
This is music?
