  • CATBOAT SAILING | PADANARAM RENDEZVOUS - 2019! (ABRIDGED WITHOUT AWARD CEREMONY)
CATBOATS, CATBOATS EVERYWHERE! This video is about the phenomenal time we all had at the 2019 Padanaram Catboat Rendezvous, hosted by Geoff and Kristen Marshall from Marshall Marine.
The rendezvous included over 30 boats and over 150 diehard catboat fans attended the event. Come and enjoy our video, and feel free to leave a comment below, especially if you were one of the attendees.
This video is brought to you by CatBoat Adventures, a brand new RUclips channel dedicated to sharing our love of sailing catboats and finding new and unique ways to use them. MUSIC in today's video was brought to you by:
"I'm On My Way" by Martin Hall - Let me know in the comments below what you thought of that instrumental. If you liked it, I recommend that you consider supporting the musician and buying his song.
Now it's time to sit back, relax with a cup of coffee (or glass of wine...it's 5 o'clock somewhere) and enjoy! Welcome aboard!
In future videos CatBoat Adventures will explore all the special little coves, rivers and harbors where only shallow draft sailboats like CatBoats can venture. As most of us know, we call this "gunkholing" and those special shallow water places are called sailing in "skinny waters". We'll start with Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts this year. But we are also looking forward to venturing beyond into southern Cape Cod, Narragansett Bay and elsewhere in New England as well.
So let’s set out on this adventure together and have some fun. Maybe it will generate lots of conversation on the subject of gunkholing and sailing in skinny waters and maybe, in some small way, it will entice you to do the same with your boat.
Later this summer and fall I'd like to explore the following places around the Elizabeth Islands and greater Buzzards Bay area:
    • Quissett Harbor
    • Hadley Harbor
    • West Falmouth Harbor
    • Lackeys Bay
    • Naushon Island
    • Pasque Island Marsh
    • Nashawena Harbor
    • Penikese Island Harbor
    • West End Pond (Cuttyhunk)
    • Cuttyhunk Harbor
    • Westport River
    • Allen's Pond
    • West Island Cove
For those who don't own a Cat Boat, and might be considering buying one, I plan on taking you behind the scenes, later this fall, to Marshall Marine and Areys Pond if we can, to see how and where these beautiful boats are manufactured. Maybe this will help you take the plunge.
