I'm not going to take away this man's obvious skills with working with metal. Such basic tools and working conditions and his conviction with making those hammer blows. he probably knows he's going to hit those rivets and metal at exactly the right spot with the force of a sledge hammer. Very impressive, whichever way you cut it.
I wish everything in the world was still made like this quality work hand make and done with care. Not just someone doing it to get payed but this is this man's whole life
I know rivets are very hard to put on cuz I used to have to do them this gentleman is a wonderful artist thank you for all of your hard work 💛 Peace Be With You 🙏🏼
Ingenious, resourceful, skilled, self-reliant. We in the west could really learn a thing or two from these folk. Excellent video of a skilled craftsman / engineer!
Aha) Tell this to guys who build space crafts, molecular engineering and microprocessors. This man is really skillful. But absolutely nothing "ingenious".
The riveting for the base is very clever. If I were to make this I would just overcomplicate it and probably end up with a worse result. These backstreet craftsmen are so underrated. Some of the stuff they do is ingenious. They do so much with so little.
When i visited Pakistan in 2018, during my tour of Maltan city, city of saints, i have seen this guy and even recorded his basket making skills. I still have the video.
I hope you bought a basket as well, i'd buy one in a heatbeat! I like to buy things that aren't mass produced IE. big ass factory mass produced, i find that if more care, time and effort has gone into the making of an item the person who made really cares for their craft and the items they make.
@@MegaRazorback I should have had bought a dozen but its really hard sending back to my country, i have to send things to london and from there to Israel.

Well done! When I was a kid in south Missouri the hardware stores had rollers like this guy used and they would make the pieces for water heater exhaust and guttering and such. It took a lot of time, but it could be done.

I'll sit on the floor.....no clamp to hold the piece in place, I'll just use my feet/toes.....we could all take a serious life lesson from these folks.

This is not a basket made from metal strips, it's as close to a work of art as it possibly can get!

We have very talented guys in manual labor in the west. Unfortunately, the industrialization converted all those jobs in machine operating jobs.

We learned this stuff centuries ago. That’s not taking anything away from their skill.
They all code now. Right joey?
That is craft that has become art.Manual work has been under appreciated historically.
