Instead of sticking with the exceptional studio version, she unfortunately turned the song into a seedy nightclub "conversation piece". I don't know, perhaps she thought the lyric was too introspective to go over well with audiences? Or perhaps she simply talk-sang because her voice was cracked to shit and she wanted to make it through the show and the tour? Maybe both those things? In any case, this is a much better performance than the other video from 1991 here on RUclips.
