Today I have this Fan with a Faint buzzing Noise but no Rotation. Let's Repair it.

Hey kids REMEMBER! Before touching the 230V capacitor wirings, or before checking the capacity- always wait till the capacitor discharges, better with the device turned on and unplugged... it can kill someone -

I got a 2mf capacitor in place of 1.5mf but the fan still doesn't rotate. Can getting a higher capacitor affect the fan

I wonder if capacitor is also the problem with my fan. when i try to turn it ON, it makes the humming noise. i tried to help the fan blade spin but its somehow got a bit hard to rotate as if its motor is magnetizing from one-side while the other is weak.
The motor doesn't seems clogged because when I turned it OFF it spins smoothly. only when its ON.

Hi what setting do you use on your multi meter to check the capacitor? Ty
There's a dedicated Capacitance option.
I have a Bajaj pedestal fan and the problem of humming is there. As these models do not use a capacitor, any other suggestion on rectifying it.
If it's a regular induction motor, there must be a capacitor. Maybe it's hidden inside the motor.

I do not recommend to merge capacitors.
I recently changed my bearing of the pedestal fan, but it will still not start at once. Do you think it has loose connection??

Which wire you connected have capacitor plus and minus or any side we have to connect
AC capacitors have no polarity. Use any wire. Take note of original wiring sequence before undoing them.

Other factors might be bearing (Jammed fan)
or bad winding.
Mine works in level 3 but makes sound
See my fan is not rotating when I pull the rotating string and when I switch on the fan I need to spin it with my finger then it takes pickup and spins what's the problem?

The pin is starting to stick probably WD40 will cure that. BUT still may be the Capacitor/Condenser droppng its value. If not an electician do not play around with these - if you do decide to test and check/replace it DO NOT TOUCH BOTH
WIRES FROM IT WITH YOUR HAND. You will require a good meter for this reading.

Good day. Nice video... i have the same problem. I already replaced the cap. But the humming is still there. The fan is not stuck. I can freely turn the fan. When turning the fan on the fan turns but it's very weak.
Looks like wingdings have become weak.

लुमिनियस की 150ah की 2 सोलर बैटरी पैरेलल में कनेक्ट करके एक 300ah का बैटरी बैंक जिसको की UTL gamma plus से जोड़ा गया है, बैटरी वोल्टेज 14.2 तक पहुँचने पर ये 300ah का बैटरी बैंक bluk charging स्टेज में होते हुए भी सोलर से पर्याप्त amp आने पर भी मात्र पांच से 7 amp ही देता है, ऐसा क्यों????? जबकि अन्य चार्ज कंट्रोलर लगाकर चार्ज करने पर इसी स्टेज में करीब 15amp से चार्ज होती है बैटरी।
जबकि UTL gamma plus मात्र 5 से 7 amp ही देता है जबकि सोलर से करीब 15 amp आते हैं, ओर बैटरी का चार्जिंग स्टेज भी bulk यानी प्रथम स्टेज ही है,,,, gamma में मैने बैटरी चार्जिंग वोल्टेज भी करीब 15 रखे हुए हैं,, ,कृपया कम amp से चार्ज होने का क्या कारण है? समाधान करें।

What if condesor is new but not working
Maybe windings are bad.
Have the Resistance checked for each coli of the winding - an electrician needed unless you are experienced. Any dirty grease should be cleaned off them with a proper solvent
