It works. but there is a risk that the motor will get too hot and the thermal fuse will trip, and it is difficult to change. as someone else wrote, it probably just needs oil.
@@31knot I fixed several of these $15 fans with 2 drops of oil. Very easy to figure out, just try to move the prop by hands to feel if free rotating or not. Try oil, then capacitor, then thermal fuse.
@@julienrobert3138 usually these fan motors use a stamped metal sheet, I'm not really comfortable disassembling it since once you took it apart it's hard to align it to be true again. If it's really a lubrication problem it will turn if you rotate it by hand, if it does not turn after you kick-started it, it's due to faulty running capacitor

these fans use self-lubricating bronze bushing, it's almost always the capacitor
