Freaking genius! Just kept me from screwing around taking off my bumper, taking out headlight assemblies, etc. just to change a bulb. This should be top hit of any G37 youtube search instead of all the “look at my cool new aftermarket headlights” videos.
Siddharth Vadodaria I literally burst out laughing when my dealer quoted me over $200 to replace “light bulbs” then I went home ordered the bulbs online and filmed this video lol
Thank you for your video. I was able to do it all by myself. Removing the little house wire was the tricky part. It’s hard to explain how to move it. But I got it. Thanks again.
Wanted to add a WARNING. If you have never done this before, you will probably want to go ahead and remove the tire so you can pull the liner down and actually see what's going on inside the headlight. If you only pull the edge of the liner down, you will be working almost entirely by feel. That's okay if you've done this before but, if it's your first time you can get really hung up trying to figure out how to get the clips on and off or feel when the bulb actually lines up and slips into place. WARNING ... the metal clips that swing up and down to hold the bulb in place fit into slots at the bottom of the mount. You have to squeeze them together and push down toward the bulb to get them in to or out of the slots. CAUTION ... the slots are made of plastic and the top section of the slot WILL BREAK if you put too much pressure on them. And "too much" means not much pressure at all. DO NOT pull back on the metal wires trying to get the clip out of the slot or push down too hard trying to get the wires into the slot. This is a major reason for taking the tire off and getting a really good view of the layout and what you are doing.
The only reason I didn't remove the wheel is because is my car is lowered and it would mess up my alignment. Otherwise unless you have a jack removing the wheel does make the installation a little easier. Thanks for watching! 👍
@@niclacoste liked your video alot and i subscribed as well. I just wanted to tell you that removing and replacing your wheel will not change your wheel alignment. Just fyi. Great video! Thank you.
Duane is right, removing the wheel and pulling the wheel well liner would have made this video great. As is, this video is helpful, but I really wanted to see what was inside the headlight assembly.
Iv done this before but the OG way by removing the bumper but never tried it under the front finder. So I decided to leave the tire on as well it was pretty hard at first but I just took my time and everything came off pretty easy, plus my car was hot as hell cuz I was sending it 10 minutes before installing the bulb.
My "inexpensive" mechanic wanted to charge me $120 for 1 bulb and $90 for labor. I would have spent over $400 to replace two headlight bulbs. I spent $89 on a pair of Osram Xenarc CBI D2S and it took me 1 hr to change out both. Didn't need to take off the tires either. I'd suggest using nitrile or latex gloves when handling the bulbs because yes it will be a little difficult to squeeze past the panel but wearing the gloves ensures that you won't accidentally touch the bulb and get your hand oil on it, plus less risk of dropping the bulb if you're wearing latex/nitrile gloves
Thank you so much for sharing this helpful DIY headlight bulb change on the 2008-14 Infiniti G37 x sedan/coupe. 🤝 I just purchased a pair of LED "Alla Lighting H8 H11 LED Fog Light Bulbs or DRL 6000K Xenon White, H16 H11LL H8LL H1155 2800 Lumens Xtreme Super Bright 5730 33-SMD 12V Replacement" on Amazon. Watching your video will save me labor fees at the auto mechanic. 🧰
I bought these for my 07 g35x. they are much brighter and have a pure white output(5500k), BUT, they do flicker then turn off. I contacted morimoto and they said the bulbs might require more power than the ballasts are putting out, and recommended changing ballasts. So in the end it's frustrating. I figured i would get a different bulb to replace a dead one. I wasn't looking to upgrade the ballasts too. Be wary when buying these bulbs. I doubt my car is the only exception to these not working well. **I did use this video to replace the bulb though. Last time I changed a bulb I took the wheel off so knowing I didn't need to was nice. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this video. The dealer wanted $439.00 before tax on this repair. Ordered the bulbs through your link. Hope it makes you some money that way.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad I was able to help. It's really easy to replace but requires a little work to get access to it. I don't make any money or commission for recommending the bulbs, I just want to help G owners save money.
Hey I drive a M37x and like you I am a DIY type person cause I know the dealer will rip me off for stuff like this. I have been looking for instruction to replace my front side marker but I cannot find anything. However I think your video will be very helpful. hopefully it gives me clear access to change the bulb and all the other bulbs on the cluster as it did the headlight. thanks.
Dtchman M37s are nice! Sorry I wish I could help, but I don't think it should be that difficult to replace the side marker. Are you swapping out the current bulbs with LEDs? Thanks for watching!
Is it just the video quality or does the Ebay bulb appear to have the exact same performance as the Morimoto one by TRS? What's your opinion having seen them in person?
kmxtornado The quality of the Morimoto bulbs by TRS is significantly better than the generic eBay bulb. The light output of the Morimoto bulbs is also brighter than the eBay bulbs. I no longer have this vehicle, but recently installed Morimoto D4S bulbs in my new car and I'm very satisfied.
Really great video. Dealership tells me that my ballast is bad, they aren't sure about the bulb. Can you recommend a source for reliable ballasts that will work on my 2007 G35?
bmaca51 The two links I'm giving you sells OEM Infiniti parts. One of them is the actual Infiniti online parts store and the other is an authorize retail store that sells only Infiniti parts. Link 1: parts.infinitiusa.com/ Link 2: www.infinitipartsusa.com/
Giany laguerre No, because this is a direct replacement of the oem bulb. The car already comes with HIDs so you don’t have to re-align the headlights unless your current beam projection is either too high or too low.
Hi, I have a quick question....... if my car is originally using Halogen light bulb....how can I change to Xenon Fusion light bulb? Haw many things do I need in order to do the conversion?
purchased infinity without a bulb on the left side and I just bought a bulb but it’s not clicking into it somethings wrong the bulb is for the same model it’s something els😞
I was looking for a video to replace one of my fog light/drl on my 2009 G37 sedan that are into the headlight like yours. I didn`t found what I was searching for, but your DIY is verry clear and helpfull cause my car have almost 200 000km so I will probably have to do it too in the future ;) Only the part with the clips that I'm not 100% sure about, but it might only be because I'm french and I don't understand English perfectly. But you think when I drilled 3 holes at the bottom of my lights to get the water and fog out the lights i mess up something in there. am so lost
It uses a 198 or T10 wedge bulb, I replaced mine with a 6000K T10/198 12SMD LED bulb. You can buy it on eBay. Make sure not to get the LEDs that extends out too much because that area is kind of short.
hey. i have an 2008 infiniti ex35 which looks to have a very simmiar head light assembly. the issues is that i installed new halogens in my car and after completion and starting up the headlights the lights are completely misaligned and are throwing off no light at all. how do i fix this! is there an alignment screw? or some other way?
It comes with stock Bi-Xenon HID system, which is 1000x better than a traditional halogen bulb. Almost every Infiniti 2008+ model comes with stock HIDs.
A pair of nitrile/latex gloves will help with keeping oil from your hands off the bulb. Been pretty much standard procedure even since halogen bulbs came out around the mid 80’s
Anthony Ricci No, fog lights are standard halogen bulbs much easier...just twist and the bulb comes out...you do replace thru the wheel well though, as you do here.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!
Imagine a mechanic telling you " going to need to remove the bumper for this 🤦♂️🤣thanks man, I really appreciate you
They told me the same lol it’s only required for the whole headlamp assembly.
2024....and this video just saved my some money on my 2008 G35x S =]
Just purchased the bulbs and will be doing this tomorrow! Thank you for the very clear and concise instructions!!!
How bright are these bulbs and do you like the look
One helpful tip that I learned is to use some painters, tape and tape the lamp spring clip up and out of the way before inserting the new bulbs
Thank you for your video. I was able to do it all by myself. Removing the little house wire was the tricky part. It’s hard to explain how to move it. But I got it. Thanks again.
It really helps to remove that wheel first (use block or jack stand) or at least turn steering wheel towards the other side.

hello can you upload a video on how to remove the headlight assembly
Thanks. Used to install oem light but tutorial was really easy to follow. The clips actually weren't my issue. The ballast was, but all good.
