Far Easterns are far the best in classical music today. I was talking my Mom. He thought Far Eastern musicians are like very precize, but somewhat missing at soul. I said no, you're wrong!! They're very precize and and their attitude towards the music is very pure in soul. Asian classical musicians own today!!!
Who really cares if Zimmerman's is better, this is a great interpretation and well played in my opinion. Anyone commenting on a couple mistakes is obviously not a pianist of any sort.
Wonderful...At last an interpretation full of emotions....Personally,I also love Szokolay's interpretation, but I can't find it anywhere on youtube...As far as the mistakes are concerned, they were minor and it is unfair to condemn the whole effort just because of them. The point is...he gave us 5 minutes of sheer pleasure...
@jazzyjimg The pedal can also be used to affect tone. Raising the damper ever slightly can change the tone of a note as the other strings vibrate along with it. No? So here we have two examples of how a player can affect tone, and yet you say tone has "nothing" to do with the player. "Little to do with the player" would be a more accurate assumption.
the piece has very distinctive contrast- the first section should sounds very delicate and light and it is the middle section thats got to be loud. the first sections seems to be very loud all the way through- it starts with p and goes up to f at the first repeat but I dont think he made enough contrast, and when the music goes to minor (before middle section) it's meant to be pp but sounds like f or ff. Also triplet in the middle seems way to fast and no rubato at all?
Felicitaciones.
Me too, I prefer Zimerman's interpretation : more legato, more tasting because slower, and at 1:25 I don't understand why does he "rubato" every right hand arpeggios. Interesting yet.
Although very good, Zimmerman is much better. The first section should be very gentle and smooth, Zimmerman achieves this better than i could even imagine possible. Check him out mann!
Yes it is unfortunate that some people only listen for mistakes and other things they do not like about the interpretation. Hard to enjoy it if you are attempting to critically analyze the piece.
Really beautiful, love his tone.
Wonderful playing!!
A truly passionate piece of music. Those professional pianists must be overwhelmed when they play this music.
i love this piece!!!
this is beyond beautiful :D
Wonderful performance, very inspiring. Nice video angles too!
aside from the 'small' mistakes, I really love his interpretation; I personally enjoyed it much more than Zimmerman's
Beautiful sound!

Who else looked up this song and steinway concert grand at the same time?

it is his performance, his interpretation. his 'style'. Just like everyone who has her/his own interpretation on every pieces. just saying.
@jazzyjimg
You are thinking about a harpsichord.
For this particular piece, I think Peraiha has the edge over the others. Look it up o RUclips.

agreed, much better.

too loud at some parts
he need more passion in the forte but also in the piano.
made mistakes but covered them smoothly...nice...
but uh mistakes?!
Jenny Liu cute :)
his sound is not refined enough, too exact. does not have much imagination.
mistake 2:15
🙄🙄
yes, he is not as good as Zimerman. But still fantastic !!
zimerman, peskanov sucks at all.
I care about the mistakes!!! it wasn't very well!!! I am better xD. Just 14old
