He says that Waldron has no experience. Caleb has no one to talk to or help him. He said that Waldron is not qualified because its his first year.
Every rookie quarterback that has done well sat for a year under Alex Smith, so clearly that is the model for things.
The Chiefs did not draft Mahomes with the first overall pick. You can't compare the situations these guys are in. The guy knows this and he's finding an opportunity to $hit on the Bears. I find this "concerning".
I always thought Pete Carroll should have been put in as assistant HC. Coached USC and not looking at his age to take over for Eberflus and knows Shane. He would help out Matt while he concentrates on the defense.
25 pass tds, 5 rush tds, less than 10 picks is the bare minimum.
With this Bears slightly improved defense that was nearly the best in the last half of this last season and a significantly improved offense and the rest of the draft.... This is what we expect from the Bears and Williams.
So that we have the minimum expectations and the "too high" expectations.
4000-5000 yards passing, 30-40 TDs, 10-13 wins, a playoff berth - NFC Championship game appearance.
Cam Newton, Justin Herbert did the best on paper. CJ Stroud maybe the best full season rookie QB playoff run. ( I know Purdy had one too but😏.)
We've never seen a generational rookie QB join an NFL team "this good on paper."
If he translates to the NFL and plays all 17 games based on his college game average that's almost 300 yards a game and 2.5 TDs a game = 5000 yards and 40 TD's.
I think he's intelligent enough to process the NFL game. It's about the matchups. Will his receivers be open and the offensive line give him time to pass? These are luxuries that most rookie quarterbacks getting drafted early in the draft don't get with the team they join. Then a proven defense!
I don't see any reason why Caleb Williams doesn't put on the best rookie performance and numbers we have ever seen in the history of the NFL!
Did Eisen even play college football? Does he have any coaching experience?

Matt Nagy was unproven. Luke Getsy was unproven. Shane Waldron is an accomplished OC who’s had success with multiple QB’s. Is he Andy Reid? Hell no. But there’s only one Andy Reid.

They literally have one of the better staffs a 1st overall pick has gone to on some time. The way hes talking about it is like in the past, QBs have gone into situations that were better andnthat couldnt be further from the truth. And also.. pat mahomes didnt start in year 1 so any questions he wouldve had in year 2 about something that confused him or he wasnt seeing properly wouldn't have happened with alex smith by the time Pat was starting
