I have BCA and haven't actually used it yet. Shall be sure to find a reason when i get back to the studio. Thanks for a great insightful and thorough video.
Hello Dancetech Thank you for the great tutorial that you show, I have a question? is it possible to save an entire mix on Console 1 with all the presets?
@ Dancetech Thank you for the quick reply back. So if I understand you right? The song/project will be save when I save it in my (DAW) which is Pro Tools. Meaning that all settings will be save on Console 1 to? Thanks in advance
You can say Neve, this is from Softube's original press release: Let your tracks soak in the fat transformer crunch of a 1073 input stage, set the tone with the honey sweet filters of the 1084 equalizer, keep the dynamics under control with the full-bodied 2254 compressor, smash them into oblivion with the 2254 limiter, and tighten things up with the musical 2257 gate. British Class A For Console 1 collects the world's most sought after Neve units in a single channel.
dancetech haha, yeah they are pretty tight lipped about it, that was an excerpt from their musikmesse 2016 press release. This is probably the best Neve emulation that I have heard, I love it. Great vid!
Great reviews as usual , tell me , did you compared the drive from consoles to consoles , is always the same or they really modeled each console tolerance ?
I already pre-ordered it but a great review nonetheless :) One thing I'm curious about, the Dyna-mite, I saw in the video that you could load it into the shape "slot" of Console 1. What does that do? What controls do you get, and, what does it sound like? Any chance of you taking one plugin at a time and showing where you can use it in Console 1?
the valley people dynamite is an old gate/compressor. ruclips.net/video/kic537lfhRU/видео.html we'll be working through the other softube plugins in coming weeks.
well when you insert the Dynamite into the gate section on colsole 1 you only get the gate functions, threshold, detection type (average/peak/gate), range & release. If inserted into the compressor section then you get the compressor controls.
i have a question with the compressor on the console 1! can it be used while recording a track live like a vocal etc? the reason i ask is because my brother said that when using plugin compressors you get latency so there not good for the actual recording chain. can you explain abit more about latency with plugin compressors to me? im also asking because on your original console 1 video you said the latency was very low, so does that mean you can use it on the live recording? just curious to find out more about the latency on the console 1, and wanna learn more about latency with plugins and what to avoid! any help would be appriciated! im considering console 1 but only if i can use it like an outboard compressor and strip!
well generally you dont 'print' effects to the recorded track in any DAW when you record audio. The fx are inserted POST record. They are therefore being used as monitoring effects and thus can be changed anytime AFTER recording. But yes you can use any compressor in realtime as long as your DAW runs at 32 or 64 sample buffer size (even 128 samples buffer should be ok for realtime fx & processors)
oh i see! lol ya my computer cant run that low of samples! i hear of some people running that low and i get jealous! i usually have to record at around 256-400 or so depending! and i mix with my samples abit higher! do you think its better or okay to mix at higher sample rates?
nothing to do with the computer. I can run 32 samples buffer size on all the old windows machines i own. The latency you can achieve is down to the audio interface (unless you are running some really big project, only then does the power of the pc matter) So what audio interface are you using? - also: higher sample rate? not really important imo. 44.1 is fine. all that matters is the song and it's arrangement.
im pretty sure you cant run 32 sample rate while live tracking! ive only heard of people recording 32 or 64 samples etc with a really good computer! my computer is really good, not tops but 8gb, i5 v pro, and if im anything under 256 samples i get clicking and dropouts etc, when im recording! and my interface is a zoom uac-2 usb 3.0, fully cabably of low sample rates, but its the computer! i dunno, maybe someone else could ellaborate but im pretty sure sample rates totally depend on your computer, not just the interface and plugins!
i can record 8 tracks at once at 32 sample buffer size on my old amd 2000xp machine (1667mhz with 1gb ram) with an ESI ESP1010 audio interface, no problems. Then it'll playback those 8 tracks while i record more at same sample buffer size. It is absolutely down to the audio interface driver quality, but sounds like you have a problem with the usb3 port or something.
Six years on from when this video was posted and it's still finding new people to help. Brilliant! Thank you for sharing

This reviewer is superb... so educational and amazingly demonstrative. Thanks!
"..on this famous EQ module"
lol Brilliant! :-D
Another great review ;-)
Thank you so much.Amazing video and beautiful bass paying
"Sonic brush-strokes" LOVE IT.
Granular Harmonic Silver. Amazing descriptor!
Hello Dancetech
Thank you for the great tutorial that you show, I have a question? is it possible to save an entire mix on Console 1 with all the presets?
the 'mix' gets saved with the host sequencer project/song save.

At the time i was told not to mention it. that must be an updated PR.

Nice Yorkshire accent! : )
(Great review too!)
:( it was supposed to be Lancashire lol
How does this compare to UAD 33609 and Lindell 254e soundwise?
Great review, thank you!
you're most welcome.
Great reviews as usual , tell me , did you compared the drive from consoles to consoles , is always the same or they really modeled each console tolerance ?
yeah they all have different drive character
Thks good to know !! i don't understand why softube doesn't allows people to choose the console emu when they buy the unit ....
@@ZozillaThaGreat That's such a great idea!
I already pre-ordered it but a great review nonetheless :)

Yes I know the compressor, I have it in UAD form, just curious what it adds in the Shape slot in Console 1. Looking forward to more of your reviews!
well you can insert it into EITHER the gate or compressor section of a console 1 channel.
Well, yes... Just wondering what it could do in the shape/gate department. I'll just check it out myself then. Thanks.

Hi great vid thanks!! Question is there a big difference soudwise between the SL 4000E en the Britisch Class A?
yes
Is Neve happy about this ? Or unhappy in a technical way ? Would Softube not benefit from the name like they do with SSL ?
RIGHT!? I have a feeling they might be in some type of no-compete agreement w UAD
hello nice video can you tell me if console one is compatible with Big Sur with m1 processor
have you sny experience with the brainworx bx console and if so how does it stack up to the softube emulation
nah never tried it
