Glad it was helpful! I did a more recent comparison between NO Console 1 and the American Class A emulation in a similar switch back and forth method. I think the quality of the new videos are better including the quality of the audio on them. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/XZd8r4CnCFA/видео.html
AND.... I couldn't agree more with you about how well the gate works on this thing. I've been fighting with gates for years, definitely one of the most pita pieces of equipment in our arsenal. But the SSL emulation is as clean as you just demonstrated. Keep the videos coming. I have to go play with LUNA now....
Thanks a lot for the demo and info, I was not expecting the difference it made today I tried it first time on an already mixed song after (fake reset in studio one mixer, surprised to find there was no option of resetting mixer, years before I used it in cubase but still not there in studio one :S), after years of hearing marketing terms like warm analogue etc finally it really did it so clearly I couldn't believe I didnt have to use "sooth plugin" for fixing harshness, so happy to have found it.
It's really quite awesome. I'm about to do a series on EQ and Compressors that are included in Studio One plus more on the expanded Fat Channel stuff. But really, I come back to the obviousness and the simplicity of the Console 1. I REALLY like the British Class A (Neve). I use it on my drums and every time I'm amazed at how great it makes the sound in the mix - of course it doesn't hurt that the Pearl Mimic Pro sounds so great anyway. I also just applied it to my old Variax 500 on Acoustic models and it's pretty amazing how it helps take their not-quite-real acoustic tones to a new level.
@@FaizanShakeelKhan I don't really have one yet. I have done my mastering as mostly leveling of the mix to make sure it comes out at the volume I want and translates to other playback devices. Which Console 1 options are you looking at specifically for mastering?
@@BladesMusic I was looking into softube's mastering options for console 1 ( Curve Bender, Weiss DS1 etc ), the main reason I thought of needing one is to keep the analogue classic simulation throughout the chain but haven't got much time lately to dig into this, might find one later :) thanks
@@BladesMusic I think I found what I was looking for "Weiss Gambit Series for Console 1". Reason for the search was to not leave C1 for remaining surgical work e.g fabfilter. British Class A : Colored, overall tonal shaping (mixing) Weiss Gambit : Clean, surgical (fixing) But this is all possible because of the possibility of having multiple instances of C1 on a single track, when second instance is added the track number on C1 starts blinking, pressing the blinking track number on C1 again switches to the other instance 👍
I liked them Both! For different reasons, which is the whole point of having different Console Emulations, not to mention the ability to mix and match channel strips, or even components on the channel strips. My Console 1 is the best purchase of the post Analog era. I might o so far as to say it SURPASSES what I could do in a major studio. This is a perfect example. The age old "Track on a Neve, Mix on an SSL" is actually doable with this system. Especially when combined with my UA Apollo, and the Console 1 in Apollo Central mode! The base model Console 1 gives you the SSL4KE, to Mix on. The cheapest UA Arrow even gives you 2 Unison Preamps that let you track through Neve 1073s in real time. Get an Apollo Twin and an Apollo 8p, not cheap, but you can track 10 channels through Unison 1073s, and LA2As, 1176s, etc in realtime, which is basically a $50000+ BCM10. The Console 1 FEELS like Universal Audio built it when in Apollo Central Mode. For the Mix, having all of the Softube Consoles, including the just released Chandler Limited Zener-Bender which builds a Console out of two of the most amazing studio pieces ever, it's a brave new world.
This thing has made a great difference in the way that I think about mixing my simple projects. The analysis paralysis is over! Most of the stuff you need on most of the tracks you do can be done with just the Console 1 and then you can spice it up with some other bits here and there, but this is REAL. Thanks for your comment!
@@BladesMusic Agreed! It's kind of a step back, to what worked. I call it Cooking, then Seasoning. You always used to have a Console that did all the main cooking, then you dug into your stash for those special herbs & spices to spice spice up this or sweeten that, little bursts of flavor. That was their whole philosophy when they built it: that what got lost in the DAW with unlimited choices, was the Hands on muscle memory of your tools that let your fingers fly on their own and gave your ears exactly what they were expecting, repeatedly. A quarter turn on that knob does this every time. I just can't believe how many people don't get it yet. That I know of, there is no other solution like it.
Thank you for doing quick switches between the two, the only way for comparisons, and no talking too! 😄

Honestly, IF you gonna make a video like this, get it right!! American Class A is not an NEVE emulator, its an API emulation!!
But he isn't talking about the American Class A, he is talking about the British Class A, which IS a Neve emulation ;-)
