    See the steps taken to produces this lino-cut print. The process starts with the idea. I work up some thumbnail ideas in a sketchbook. An idea is chosen and a refined drawing is made to the size of the Linoleum plate. I airbrush the plate black with India ink and then transfer the drawing to the plate. Just the basic shapes are transfered. Most of the drawing details are made with the cutting.

    Hi Michael, I really like your work. Thanks for making the videos. Could you tell me what the tool is that automatically advances a set distance at the touch of a button that you use to help carve the daytime sky in this print please? It appears in the video at around 1:08-1:20. many thanks.

    i showed this to my students, they asked how long it took you to carve the linoleum?

      I don't keep an accurate account of my time, but it's safe to say that the carving of the plate alone took over 100 hours.
