    You do a great job of explaining what is going on with the detector and the various coins. Now all I need is the V3i Thanks for your time.

    I wanted to thank you so much for your videos and this switching the Polar Plot to that forward trigger REALLY impressed me and I am in the process of trying to trade my XP Deus for a V3i.... your videos REALLY REALLY have taught me much especially the polar plot. Great job and thank you! Until I get my V3i, I will keep watching!

    Thank you for doing the videos! They are great! I'm just starting out with my V3i and I love it! I have found 5 gold rings with it so far...They were found for people who lost them...

    clear explanation. Lets say the target is a gold chain or a silver bracelet,wouldn't the polar plot get squiggly and miss lead you?

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  4 года назад

      Well that is a good question. I have not found either of those things in the dirt. Sounds like an air test needs to be done. My thought is, polar plot does a better job of differentiating precious from junk metals. Sizing isn't going to give you much on a chain since that is a variable size, unlike a ring or coin. I think you have a better chance of polar plot reading in a way that makes you want to dig.

    Very Good Videos on all of the different Coins. Good ref to use with my V3I. Thanks. It would be nice if you made more on how to use all the V3i settings and what they are used for..

    Really nice videos, much needed with the V3i. Obviously a lot of work, too, because your editing & titles are quite well done. Hopefully you will do more. Also wondering how you like the target response with the stock coil. Personally I've found it to be lacking vs. the 950 or elliptical.

    I like all the information that this machine provides.........I would like to see its discrimination abilities put to the test alongside an Explorer or E-Trac to see how it compares. Good job on this video.

    You can change search mode to polar plot I put the analyze and search in my live menu so I can switch on the fly. I heard not really supposed to hunt in analyze mode

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  6 лет назад

      That’s a cool idea to change search mode to polar plot. I always search with the spectrograph then analyze in polar plot. I will have to try this out. Thanks for the suggestion.

    what does a pull tab look like??? Can you notch out a certain number like pull tabs?

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  6 лет назад +1

      You can certainly notch out what would be a pull tab profile. The downside would be, you might miss nickels, and potentially a gold ring. It's a catch 22 unfortunately. Notching them out might save you some pull tab agony, but at the same time, might cost you a really incredible find. There have been several times where according to the discrimination I shouldn't waste my time on a dig, but I do it anyway only to have it turn out to be a great find. I guess that's what makes it treasure hunting! Good Luck!

    @wpaxt I find the stock coil gives me to much EMI where I generally hunt. I rely on the 6x10 DD for most of my searching. Quiets it down. I don't have a 950.

  • @hkstrongside
    @hkstrongside  14 лет назад

    @RicardoNY1 The E-Trac is a good machine too. I had a hard time deciding between the two. Obviously the V3i won my vote. I would love to get out and have both machines side by side to do a comparison.

    New subscriber to your channel. Good video. What is your updated opinion of the V3i? I am debating on buying one this winter.

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  7 лет назад

      I have been off the scene for a little while but am getting geared up to start again. I still think it is one of the best detectors out there. You can't go wrong with the v3i. I think if I was to chose anything else it would probably be the Minelab Etrac. I have wanted to get my hands one one to try out but haven't been able to.

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  7 лет назад +1

      +New York Metal Detecting I still think it is a fantastic way to go. It is still one of the best out there. Lots of features and options for searching. One downside I would say is that it is not waterproof. Whites is also top notch when it comes to customer service.

    do you still metal detect with the V3I .i am using the MXT and wondering if you feel it is worth the investment for the V3I.

    • @hkstrongside
      @hkstrongside  6 лет назад +1

      Hey. So I used the MXT before the V3i. In all honesty, I found better stuff with the MXT. With all the discrimination of the V3i it's tempting to pass targets because they don't hit well. With the MXT I dug far more signals, and I believe, found more valuable targets. It's fun to try and get the xray readout of what you are about to dig with the much more advanced V3i, but it's more fun to find stuff. Whether it's worth it, that's up to you. I like both units. If you have the $$, go for it. Get the V3i. But I think the MXT is great unit too. Happy hunting!

    1906 Indian Head penny that is copper giving a VDI of 60...I understand that...but a Polar Plot of RGB!? I'm having trouble understanding that one. Is there some brass or bronze in that coin? You would think it would be GRB as dominate freq. Same confusion on the Eagle penny. RBG...hmmm...better go back over some of my older spots to find those Indians!!

    • @hkstrongside
