- The NEW Audi A5 is here and what changes have been made to this popular luxury sedan? Under the hood is 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged engine that produces 248HP & mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The A5's exterior features a new front facia, headlights, and rear bumper. On the inside you will still find the same great interior with a 10in infotainment system screen, and versatile cargo area. I own a 19 A5 Sportback Sline. Highly recommend it. This car is like a tailored Hugo boss suit. It is sporty enough for a daily driver, it is extremely agile even in florida's rainy weather and extremely practical!
You can get a different color/trim. I got a black interior with blue accent stitching is so nice.
I own a 2019 S5 , and got it at a great price just before they released the 2020 model. I’ll tell anyone thinking about the 2019 S5 to get it. It’s one of the most versatile/ practical vehicles you can get once your budget supports it . Great review again man ! Keep up the hard work , we are definitely noticing it !
Expensive af more than an s4 so that’s why I’m choosing an s4 over it if I had the money I’d go for an s5 sport back
How is the cabin noise & vibrations? I have a hearing disability and looking for the smoothest quietest car possible
@@ThatBigCactus I test drove Sportback 2019 2.0T and I loved it. Quiet and smooth ride, minimal vibrations. Fast 2.0T with smooth transmission. Paddleshifting was fun. I can't decide which one i like better with my other favorite, the Genesis G80 2020 2.5T. Go test drive one now. Depending on the covid regulations, you can test drive it by yourself and they said 30 minutes max but I had too much fun and took longer :D Sign a waiver. You are liable if you crash, thats all
drove a 2019 s line as a loaner this year, peppy and fun for being the "base engine" great great car!
The small space / vents above the grill separated into three slots is an homage to the Audi Quattro rally cars of the 80's. A nice touch for just the baseline A-models of 2020 and onwards.

I like this designed interior a little more than their new ones in like the a7 and stuff, but I agree with you on the screen. The way they integrated it into their other models is very nice, better than this tacked on tablet

I always love the food references in your videos they crack me up. Looking to replace my Rdx and wondering if the Sportback has enough space for a car seat, stroller, and some suitcases. Seems like more useable space than a 3 series with a conventional trunk.
The boot is slightly bigger than in 3 series

It’s interesting I have a 2018 A5 with the previous infotainment screen with the MMI dial controller and it’s really easy to use. It’s almost a bit of a downgrade for me that the went with the touchscreen only option. The bin where the controller used to be is a bit odd and definitely needs a lid. I have an S-line trim and the suspension is much better. It really carves. I traded in my 2014 BMW328 and haven’t looked back. Frankly I prefer my 2018 Audi to the new BMW 3 series.

Another great review Joe. Love the exterior and interior, other than infotainment panel. I like the wood trim, beats all the cheap looking brushed aluminum or carbon fiber crap.
Great review Joe. Love the A5. I'm with you on the wood color. That center armrest not pulling fully closed, you got to zonk it along with that stuck on infotainment system. The rest of the PKG works for me.
Love those frameless doors, $53k is amazing. Insane that CLA u reviewed a couple of weeks ago was like $54k

How did you decide on a5 versus an older s5? Or was that ever a question.
@@Matt-wg9xn it's my first audi so i was pretty confident i wanted to lease it and pre owned luxury cars just seem like a pain maintenence- wise. I got it stage 1 tuned too so I'm not missing much power since it's the 45 tfsi. If i can afford a new s5 I'll be getting one next, though!

8:06 Exactly... I see my friend swinging their backpack off their back onto their lap, catching that screen, and ripping it off. It looks really strange and doesn't blend in at all.
there need to be more sportback/fastback cars in the market, on the lower to mid end market. that's how you get renewed interest in sedans. i want a sedan but like the practicality of a hatch.

Audi does so many things right (I have two S4s so definitely biased) but damn that is just a great car and kicks ass in bad weather which is also really big. Great job reviewing the A5....that 10" screen does have to go.

John Holst i bought mine back in 2017 when the b9 generation first came out. they made a lot more things optional for the b9.5 generation so i think that’s why it comes out a bit cheaper

They look amazing. The Audi A5 and Mercedes CLA are killing it. Any others I’m missing? I know there’s the CLS and A7 but they’re pretty expensive.

I agree with you completely, the tablet infotainment looks like an afterthought. Everything should be routed through the virtual cockpit! The dashboard would be a lot cleaner. 👍😎

All u need to do is the APR plus tune and ur basically a stock s5 for $1,169 and apr matches the factory power train warranty. Hp is a little less than the s5 but the tune gives you more torque than the s5 so it evens it out. 315-320 hp, and 386 torque

The center armrest doesn’t close all the way so the car doesn’t catch fire when you’re charging your hot phone on the wireless charger. It has to breathe. The wood would also look better in a lighter color like eucalyptus or bamboo.
You should do some night reviews to show the lights and the led ambient lights inside the cars.
I like those kind of cargo nets because it won’t be filled with dust. :)
How do the other styles fill up with dust?

Since you tested the updated S4 recently as well, is the extra power and presuming handling advantage worth the upgrade to you? Also curiously I don't recall you making as much of a stink about the tacked on dash tablet in said S4 where you did here.
PS - i'm sure you're aware that early-2000s-gaudy wood trim here can be swapped with more modern, matte woods.

The arm rest not closed fully is to give room for cables to pop out from it. So you have no problem charging your phone from the usb socket.
The tiny container is for the key fob. Good review. Great work.
I don't think so. I have this car and it doesnt fit the key perfectly. Furthermore, ive seen other cars with compartments that fit the key perfectly. Frankly, i dont know what it's for. I currently have a tie bar in there and a few quarters lol

My 2014 Audi A3 MMI monitor can be automatically closed in the dash. Love it.
Can't be done anymore because of US regulations that reverse camera must appear mere seconds after being shifted into reverse.

I feel like the BMW 3 series integrated the infotainment a lot better than this new A5, but I prefer the virtual cockpit of the Audi. If I can get the virtual cockpit and interiors of Audi, and the driving dynamics of the Beemer, that would make the perfect luxury sedan!
I’m not an Audi fan, but that’s one sexy sedan. On a different note though, I always enjoy Raiti reviews and his funny sarcasms and zonks :)

Joe, the zonk you did with the grille was not good enough. You should have given them a thumbs up since they actually managed to integrate the openings of the 3 vents into the grille unlike the horrible look with the RS6 and RS7 were the 3 vent openings are on top of the grille. Do check the other Audi models you have reviewed.

I work at Kia. No comparison, Audi a5 sportback all day. But the starting msrp is about 10k different. My 2020 A5 and a GT1 stinger would be a better comparison. I struggled with that decision for a while haha
