Thank you so much, Susan! It is rare that I find actual fabric with a selvedge at thrift stores, but, I have found some here and there. I think the key is to go to a lot of different thrift stores in different towns, cities, and states. That’s what hubs and I do. And, it’s also fun to use “non-conventional” items for fabric, also, like, sheets, shower curtains, etc. I have a playlist of all my thrift store hauls, if you’d like to check out all the fun things I find while thrifting. 💗
Fabulous video and recap. Still like the peasant blouse and maxi skirt the best❤. A real mish mash of styles here, you can wear ANYTHING! 👏🏼. Looking forward to the next Pattern recap. 🥰 xx
Hi Andra - Such lovely outfits. You are so productive. You must have a lot of energy! I am lucky if I make one garment a month. In a good month, I might make two. With housework, gardening, visiting my parents weekly and exercise, I find it hard to get much sewing done. But I try. I also do counted cross stitch. I can rest and relax doing cross stitch. Sewing is more active. I need to take inspiration from you and try harder to find more time to sew! Take Care.
Thank you so much, Janiece! I think I averaged three to four garments a month this year! It was a fun sewing year! No need to put pressure on yourself to try harder to sew! It’s our hobby and we need to keep it fun and only doing it when we want to! Sounds like you have a full, productive, and active life with all your activities and interests! 💗
Great makes, Andra! You've got some popular Simplicity patterns; it's nice to see how they look on a real person. Love the first one, the peasant blouse with the maxi skirt. You rocked it girl!
I was going to ask the pattern you were wearing as the blue and white sweater is absolutely gorgeous - but you mentioned the pattern at the end. I’ll need to look out for this pattern now. All your makes are fabulous and you look amazing in all of them.
Wow, you are busy! Loved all your makes! And I have the 1985 7294 pattern. Of course, bought it back then when I was super thin so pattern way too small now, lol.
Thank you so much. Mary Leigh! I love thrifting! I have a playlist in the description box of all my thrift store hauls, if you’d like to check them out! I rarely find anything at Goodwills and find the best stuff at independent thrift stores! 💗
Thank you so much, Chris! I think I averaged 3-4 garments a month last year! Usually, the only changes I need to make are adding length to sleeves or pants, thank goodness! 💗
